Anyone else had problems with noise at Contemporary

I was just wondering if anyone else has lost sleep due to the noise from chef mickeys when staying at the contemporary...We had our first stay there from May 25 to May 30th we were on the 8th floor magic kingdom view, we were woke up every morning by 7:30 from the music and noise coming from Chef Mickeys it was so loud in our room. I had never stayed there before and now I am dreading my anniversay trip I have planned there in August, I have already called but due to getting the free dining there is nothing else available. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

When you were there in May did you go to the Front Desk and tell them about the noise and/or ask to be moved to a quieter room? Have you put a request for a quiet room on your room reservation?

We stayed there last August and we requested to be on the other side of Chef Mickey and we never heard one sound from there! We were on the 12th floor but it did not bother us at all. I would just put in a room request to be away from it!

I'd put a request in to be away from Chef Mickeys. I've seen others post about the noise too. Same thing at WL with Whispering Canyon. When we stay there I request a room far from WC.

We were right by the elevators, so I think toward the middle), and although we requested a high floor, we did not get one. Noise from Chef Mickey's was never a problem for us. I don't know if we were just less sensitive to it, if the midway point is far enough to not hear it, or if we were able to drown it out with our fan. I always bring a fan when we travel - just a smaller travel fan. It really helps with issues like this. We would not hesitate to stay at the Contemporary again and really loved our stay there.
