Anyone Else going Jan 2009

My parents would be impressed if I did that... it shows that you are THAT serious about it, to take the time and make a power point about why you want to do it... and to color-code it, at that! Impressive

I honestly, can't think of a single negative about this program other than the fact that you work a lot... but that's not even a negative

The guy at my school who is incharge of internships rolled his eyes at me when I said I wanted to do this program. He said he had sent 2 people down to do it and they both came back and said they hated it.

I was kind of surprised that someone would 'hate it' so I asked what it was that they didn't like.

a direct quote from the internship supervisor: "Well, they didn't like Disney to begin with............"..............

My response was 'ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm are you serious?'

I don't think the internship guy at my school likes it much, either. He seems to be trying to get me to change my mind...

well, that isn't going to happen, so he should just save his energy and start listening to me, now

That's unfortunate that they're not more supportive! My advisor and career officers have been very nice and helpful so far. My advisor seems like her wants me to do it more then I do! It makes me feel much more confident about the program and committing to it.

i'll be down there doing a professional internship in the Spring 2009. I did the CP in the fall of 2005 and have been dying to get back ever since. especially since my bff just moved back last week!

I will be there this summer as a CT cast member back in my old location. It was sucky, but i miss disney that bad!!

I'm so sad I'm not going to be 18 in time to do the Fall program but I'll definitley apply for the Spring. btw I live in alaska( yes really) so I am really excited about the Florida weather!! WHOAAA!!!!lol

Unfortunately I will no longer be doing Spring 2009. I will be doing Fall 2009 though.

And I hope to take a trip down to FL over winter break, so I may still be down in Jan.

If you don't want to miss a semester, why don't you do the CP right after you graduate? It really is worth it.

I'm doing the CP post graduation. Unfortunately, my school won't give me the time off to do it while I'm in school, cause we run an accelerated degree program.

They can vary. However, they usually start in the timeframe around Jan 9th or so. They then run to mid-late Jan (Jan 15-20 or so).

I'm hoping to do a PI next spring... recreation management would be nice, but I'm most qualified for something in Animal Programs...probably Conservation Education. Either way, can't wait to get started!

I'm hoping to come down in 09 too!! I just found out that disney offered internships. The job I'm looking at says they want someone that recently graduated or is a senior. It's listed as full time...so that means I would skip the internship...right? Or will I not get chosen for this job since I haven't done the disney college or the PI? I am looking for PI positions..but this job fits me perfectly...and it just happens to be fulltime. Are my chances slim to get this?
