Anyone else getting nervous about the weather forecast for next week?

OMG!
I have been OBSESSIVELY checking and refreshing the weather forecast.
The other day I was ok with the mostly cloudy and one day of showers.
Now it is looking like rain 3 of the 5 days we are there.
Keeping my fingers crossed for a weather change.
My Mom was very apprehensive about coming in the first place since last time she/we went it was showing 60's all week and ended up in the 40' and we all froze to death and had to buy more warm clothes.
The day we left it went back up into the 70's.
We do NOT need a repeat of that!

We leave Sunday and I think that is HIGHLY unlikely. The rain seems sporadic at best. We usually go in January and THAT can be downright cold. But my in laws live down there now and assure us it's been quite pleasant. Keep thinking happy thoughts! :goodvibes

We leave tomorrow and I too have been religiously watching the forecasts.

I'm not to worried about the 30-40% chance of rain predicted for the middle of next week (famous last words). The forecast has gone back and forth on this for several days now. And in any event, the temperatures look great for the entire week (if anything, they're on the "too warm" side).

So what are y'all packing?
I have shorts and stuff out but now with the chance of rain I am thinking it's going to be on the cooler side.

We leave Sunday :)

We will be there the 10th-16th. I plan on bringing mostly capris (I am female, btw). I will bring a pair of shorts, just in case, and also a pair of jeans. I live in Texas, and we have had about 4 days of cold weather in the past 2 months, otherwise, its been in the 70s-80s, similar to the forecast. I hate being hot, so jeans during the day when it is sunny and I'll be walking around will make me hot.

I know the nights will be and feel cooler than here, so I will bring a sweater or light jacket with me if we aren't planning a return to the room. I figure that most of the day will end up being in the sun, so that's what I'll dress for.

As far as the rain.. We used to go in the summer, so rain won't bother us. We have our Owner's Locker with ponchos ready to go, so no biggie! I welcome rain because people tend to clear out when it happens ;)

I have been checking too . . . . Here are my forecasts for Dec 13th. our MVMCP day. 12/1= 79* and sunshine . . . 12/2= 73* couple showers . . . 12/3= 81* cloudy . . . 12/4=72* mostly cloudy . . . 12/5= 80* warmer clouds and sun . . . 12/6=79* couple showers . . . today 70* and all sun. I should be packing and not wasting my time checking accuweather!!!!::rolleyes:

I am packing everything! Seriously....a couple shorts, a couple capris, jeans, short sleeve shirts, long sleeve shirt, light jacket, bathing suit, hat, and gloves (wishful thinking here). For myself and the kids anyway. DH is packing all shorts and 1 pr of jeans and I am convincing to him to at least bring a light jacket. We live outside Houston so the weather has been similar, but I do think mornings and evenings will be chilly.

I know everyone says not to worry about the rain, but I honestly do not want it.

We're leaving Sunday too! :)

We have family 45 minutes from Disney, and they are trying to assure us at those 30% and 40% chances are likely to last an hour at best....

Just hoping those hour long showers don't happen during MVMCP or SOA....

As far as what I have packed, I have 2 pair of jeans, 2 pair of capris, 2 short sleeve tshirts, one long sleeve tshirt, one sweater and one pull over sweatshirt....
Hopefully I won't need the winter wear!

As far as DD goes, I have all of her cute little tank dresses I had specially made for the trip, and she can wear either a short sleeve tshirt, or her long sleeve leotard, and leggings.....lust I brought her matching pull over, and her super fuzzy and warm pull over that we got there last year.

The only real worry is her Rapunzel wedding dress she wants to wear to MVMCP...since it is only about an inch off the ground, I brought leggings to wear under it, and bought a faux white fur jacket that I hope she will wear over it.

Last year all she wanted to wear were the Princess dresses we brought for her, and refused to wear the jacket we brought with us. (We never had to deal with the terrible 2's we had the opinionated and stubborn 3's instead....luckily it onlynlasted about 3-4 months until she was tired of being put in the corner all the time. Lol!

LUCKILY we ordered an In Room Celebration, and it came with this AMAZING minky blanket that turns into a "princess cape" with just a couple of ties, so she let me put that over her since I told her the Princesses sent it for her to wear.

If you have a little one who doesn't want to cover up her dress, this was PERFECT!
It was REALLY warm and soft. Covered the back of her neck, her shoulders, all the way down her arms and down to about 3 inches above her belly button, and was able to be pulled around her for even more coverage.

Lately, I've been checking the local news stations' websites to look at the weather. Sometimes that is more accurate than one that is from a national center...

News 13 has only a 20% chance of rain everyday for the next 7 days, which, I feel, is about where central FL sits as far as rain chances year around. It will be in the mid to upper 70's for highs, and 60's-50's for lows. Not too bad, really. The nights and mornings might be chilly, but it will warm up nicely.

I hope that helps everyone!

Thanks for being the literal ray of sunshine!
Still gonna trip anyone I see doing anything that resembles a rain dance though! Lol!

Go for it, girl! Don't anger the Tiki gods at the Tiki Room... they may cause it to rain! ;)

I'm planning for the extremes... A pair of jeans, plus a pair of shorts, in addition to mostly capris. But I'm still pretty sure it will be nice while we're there!

I've been doing the same. I leave Monday. I can certainly take those temps!

Remember that a chance is just that: a chance. It doesn't mean that it's going to rain 30-40% of your day.

I hope everyone has a great time!!!!
