Anyone else get a DVC call saying to hold off on resigning Aulani deed papers?

We own at Aulani and this is news to me. We have not heard anything about this.

Did you buy before they opened? This seems to just be affecting people who bought early on, who now have subsidized dues because of some error when Aulani was initially sold ($1+ less a point I think). So the fear is by re-signing, it changes the dues structure, costing those owners hundreds more each year, so thousands of dollars over the life of ownership.

Ah - got it. We did not purchase before it opened. We bought on the cruise in 2012.

I returned our documents last week and just got a call today telling me not to. They are resending paperwork and will credit us $20 x two to cover the cost of the notary...although my husband is an attorney and his secretary did it. But I'll take $40 bucks. We bought before they opened so got the subsidized dues. I notice that some sellers are touting the subsidized dues and others are not. We bought at the lowest Disney price...maybe 105 a point? Can't remember. They are selling at 155 now I think. I saw some resale for about 135 or so.

I signed the paperwork the first time and sent it in. Now DVC says I need to resign and they are giving me $60 off of MX fees for signing the first time and another $60 off MX fees for signing the second time plus a $50 credit on my OKW stay in June.

This has NO effect on the dues structure for those members who bought early.

Wow. We held off signing because we are concerned about the subsidized dues. How do you know it has no effect? Did they give you that in writing? Call me skeptical......

Actually Aulani went as low as $91.80 with no closing costs at the lowest. You had to purchase 320 points though. If I remember for a 160 point contract it was $98.20 a point at the same time. This was on black friday weekend 2011.

We were founding members with 160 pts. We paid $102 per point, no closing costs and subsidized dues.

Yes you are SKEPTICAL!

Go back and read the original letter that DVC sent out about the subsidized dues and their offer to repurchase the points back. The subsidized dues are for the life of the contract to include reselling it to a new owner.

This re-deeding process has NOTHING to do with the subsidized dues and everything to do with the rights of survivorship when one party of a married couple dies.

Why is everyone going nuts over this? Read your documents!

Go to the source and stop listen to uninformed rumors.

Yes DVC made a mistake on the deeds, but I'm up $170 for 10 minutes of my time.

Works for me!

Anyone get their new paperwork yet? We are still waiting but our mail is extra slow.

Its been a couple months and still haven't heard anything about new paperwork. Anybody heard anything?

Just thinking about that a few days ago. I've heard nothing either. Weird because the automated phone call said something would be mailed in a few weeks..... several months ago! :confused3

I called couple of weeks ago. They said they were still in the process of all the paper work being reviewed and finalized. Said it should be mailed out soon but I still haven't seen anything yet. I don't think anybody knows when it's going to be sent back out. :scratchin
