Anyone else frustrated with Cars promo?

There are no more cars avail in my area. Never even saw a lightenin McQueen given out in this town. We collected over 10 of them. I also called around and did some swapping.

DS is missing two cars and then he'll have the whole set. We never had any problem with the Nemo or Peter Pan promotions. The only other 2 that we've had any interest in getting them all.

I swear I think Mcdonalds intentionally didn't make very many lightenings to keep folks coming back.

What have been your experiences in your area of the country?

I guess I'll be ebaying for lightening and the bug van.

My experience is if you don't go the first day of a major promotion where every person I know is interested then you don't get it. Oddly enough, we went and I didn't care for them, so we only have Lightning McQueen.

I do think McD's should have a set way, but how can we complain, it is a free toy and they do not advertise that we'll have this one or that one, just that they'll have one of the cars.

Best of luck finding one! It is all CARS merchandise around here that is impossible to get.

We have not had too much trouble, just need one - Ramone - we have had some doubles, and the other day DD took them into McDs and asked what they had - she was able to get Luigi, Doc and Filmore!!! We have one extra Mater, so on our way to MK for the evening we are running by there again as they were getting in more yesterday afternoon! Hopefully there will be a Ramone in the bunch!

The McDs that we visit are great about letting you "trade" in unopened toys if you have doubles!

We bought a really cute set of Ramone and Flo "matchbox" type cars at MK yesterday!

Yeah we have taken our doubles in for trades but I have called 7 different mcdonalds several times to find lightening and have yet to find one that has it. Opening week all seemed to have tom mater only here. Bummed.

We just got Lightning the other day. They said they got a late shipment.

We are only missing Mater, we managed to get all the rest. I just bought Mater on eBay for 1.99.

Ugh! All we have are Lightening McQueens! Well, we have one Mater, but nothing else! I don't even know where the kids put them or I'd sure do a trade. They started getting disappointed after a while and have been doing stunts with them.

I would love to find them in Matchbox size, but they are all sold out. No matter, they will restock and I will get them then.

Our Walmart JUST restocked and they are full. I grabbed all the different ones I could find as my sons birthday is next Sunday. The Cars section went from empty to quite full overnight so check again!

Could someone please post pictures of these Cars? I might be interested in collecting them, but we do not do McDonald's at all so I will have to eBay or find them on trading/selling loops. Just want to see if they are something my son could play with. Thanks!

Just a little tidbit...

You can buy the toys without eating the food. They are about $2 a piece if you just buy the toy.

I found the holder in Target. It looks like a race track on the top. We have all of the Matchbox type cars except for the bus, and I can't find that one anywhere I cannot belive how much some of the cars are going for on E=Bay.

we have been collecting the matchbox ones. but they are very hard to find. we are looking for sarge, guido and luigi, but no luck. we did a search on ebay this am, and they want alot for them. plus the shipping. we will just keep on searching around here.

and you can just buy them at mcdonalds with no food. that's usually what we do.

i just called wdw merchandise to see if i could buy the matchbox ones from them and have them shipped, but the cast member told me that's one of the things you can not buy and have shipped. you have to purchase them while you're here.

so out of luck on that route too!

I didn't read all the responses, so sorry if this is a repeat. I was in Big lots the other day and they had some of the matchbox type ones there and the talking lightning mcqueen - maybe some others as well but I can't remember.

Did you know that there are 2 different lightening's - one is dirty and the other is clean? McDonald's made 3/4 of the lightenings clean and a 1/4 of them dirty. The first car that DD got was the dirty one and our nephew got a clean one. DD was mad because she thought hers was defective. Then we talked to an employee of McDonalds and found out about the two types.

There are also different colors of Ramone. Not sure how many though!!!

There are actually 35 different cars. They all have different eye expressions and the Ramone comes in 3 different colors, yellow, purple and green. We were lucky enough that the first two we ever got were Lightnings and we got one clean and one dirty. I didn't even notice until my husband found both of them together.

A complete set of 35 sold on eBay for $103.xx, I was just amazed, I don't know what the appeal is but my 2 yr. old DD just LOVES them. I'm guessing because they have faces.
