Anyone else for April 2009?

From what I've gathered the parties are a way to attract folks that wouldn't normally be at Disney. Easter 2009 is Sunday April 12th. From what I can gather from the calendar, Disney figures they have a built in audience
(me included); from April 2nd (10 days before Easter) until April 22nd (10 days after Easter); therefore no need for any parties.

I am thinking about planning an April trip for 2010- I have been to Disney 15 times, however, all of my trips have been in Sept-Oct- Nov or Dec. Thought I would change it up a bit this time.

I know to stay away from Spring Break and Easter, but, I have a question for those of you with kids in school-- (we are child-free)-- When the kids have off from school for their Easter break, are their days off before Easter, or after??

When I was in elementary-high school we only got the friday before easter off. However, when I went to college with got Friday-Monday off...but it was Catholic school.

I am planning our second trip for this April... Last year we went April 3-10 it did not seem OVERLY crowded (1st trip nothing to compare to) but it rained ... A LOT!!! This year we are going April 25-May 2 so we will be there for DH birthday! Hopefully rain will not be an issue this time!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED it but DH was not as happy so hopefully in this 2nd trip Disneymania will win him over!!! I want to go yearly if we can!

We are staying at POP like we did last year! I think it is a very nice place and DH actually liked it there too!! LOL!!

I am new here so I am curious what do the green mickeys on the window mean?

Just to let others know you are part of the Dis

You can get green Mickey heads at the Home Depot paint dept. They are the paint sample swatches for Disney paint- I believe it is paint color- Alien Green...........

I like to make my own on the computer and slip them into a luggage tag and wear them on my handbag in the parks.

For us folks in RI this year school vacation starts on Good Friday and runs the whole week after. Normally April vacation runs around the 3rd week of April (we just got lucky because Easter fell during these dates for 2009)

Easter in 2010 falls on April 4th.

Hope this helps a little.

Yay another POP person that week. I hope to see everyone! I dont know where I am staying yet. I will be booking soon tho. YAY!!!

Lime Green Mickey Heads are the official color of DIS boards. It way to recognize other DISers. They are actually paint samples from Home Depot shaped like Mickey's head.

We stayed at POR in 2007 and LOVED it! We have a family of 5 so we have to stay in Alligator Bayou, but the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. We didn't do a whole lot of exploring, but we totally enjoyed the boat ride to Downtown Disney. My son loved the fishing hole. It is a big resort, but we were lucky to be in a building with a shortcut to the bus stop and that was fairly close to the main building. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! We can't wait to go back!

We will be at Saratoga Springs from April 5-10. This has been one of the first years in quite a while my kids each have the same week off from school for Spring Break. Last time we did April was spring break in 2002.

We did go August 2008 and stayed at the Pop Century, we had a wonderful time and are definately ready to go back again this coming April.

Dh and I are scheduled for 4/20 to 27 at POFQ. The 20th is dh's birthday and the 23rd is our 32nd anniversary.
