Anyone else feel overwhelmed being a cruise newbie?

Some people prefer passports. We got passports for ours because our son was born overseas, and his birth certificate isn't proof of citizenship. Besides, we will likely go out of the country again before it expires.

i have been to wdw, 7 times. I go on my first cruise, which is a dcl eastern caribbean cruise on septeber 4,2004
i have so much anxiety

I have tried to read the passporter book and make all the plans that I can, but am afraid. I am not prepared for all the things related to the cruise onboard and excursions!!!

I just made sure I had the documents I needed and compiled a list of things to take with me on the cruise, but that was it. When the time comes to get ready and pack and go, you'll be a little stressed, but that's normal!

There's something we call "analysis to paralysis"...it's the worst thing that can happen to you when planning a vacation.

OMG--I feel overwhelmed too!!! There seems to be so many suggestions of different things to bring--bubbles, beach toys, a string of lights, alarm clock, the list is endless!!!!! This is my 1st Disney Cruise, as well as my children's 1st. I am just hoping I don't forget something important!!!:confused3

i feel overwhelmed by the list of things, that you should bring and pack according to the passporter book. I am use to packing light. The books list suggesting packing many things.

I am also used to staying in my disney vacation club beach club villa, 2 bedroom unity, which is 1100 sqaure feet, so i am little worried about the tiny cabin and bringing so many things, since not convenient to get other things, when you get on ship and leave for sea.

I also am not use to bringing dress clothes and many sets of regular clothes. I have never brough dress clothes on a personal vacation and am use to washer and dryer in my Disney vacation club beach Club Villa 2 bedroom unit and am assuming hard to wash clothes on cruise, because of limited supply of W&D's.

I too sometimes feel overwhelmed. I just can't believe we will be going. But this board has really prepared me. We bought our luggage last night at Sam's club using all the suggestions from here and they have the perfect thing. We got our carry on bags from Walmart and very nice and inexpensive. I have cut and pasted all your packing lists and will edit them later. I will be ready to go when its' time. I even ordered original copies of our birth certificates already. Thank you all for the great information. I can't wait to get my Passporter. I just ordered it last night from Amazon along with another cruise book.

::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo I am very glad that you made this post. Yesterday I read the board with great anticipation as I do every day, afterword I went outside and my DH asked me what was wrong, after I started to tell him he felt so bad, he was like hon don't worry lets just go and have a good time. We are going to WDW for four days before our cruise and he has been reading up on that and is a little overwhelmed. He has only been twice once in 74 and once in 97 and all he keeps saying is that if you don't know the in's and out's your out of the loop. I have been four times and I do know the in's and out's a little more than he does, but after reading up so much about DC I kind of know how he feels now.

This board has been great very reassuring and I know it is Disney so, no matter what we will have a great time. The thing I really feel frustrated about is getting the reservations that we want like Palo and the spa. And I feel (I hate to say it like this because we will not drop off the face of the earth if we don't) a little anxiety about that. But anyway I am babbling, I'm glad it is not just me I am usually not an introverted or shy person but I was starting to feel a little out of it on this one so, thanks for the therapy session!!!!!

We had none of that and had a wonderful time and I didn't feel I'd forgotten anything important.

(A lighted alarm clock would have been nice and I probably should have ordered a couple sandpail baskets from Shirley for the kids - but we had a great time without either object and survived. Had I brought bubbles, they'd have gone unused. And I'm not sure what I'd use a string of lights for. We also didn't bring a over the door shoe holder and had no bathroom organzational problems - just my husbands shaving kit and my makeup bag in the bathroom).
