The mini Orlando get-a-way is a favorite of mine. I'm doing a third one (little three night/two day stay with my son over an October weekend when he has a Monday off of school. Is anyone else a fan of mini Orlando trip get-a-ways and doing one coming up? Would love to hear where you are staying, and your plans. // Really interesting to see what people decide to do with so much to pick an choose from in the area and just a short time to be there.

My nephew is doing the Disney college program, so we'll adapt our plan a based on his work schedule to pick him up when he can join us, but here are our tentative plans for a little get away.

(1) Despite the ability to get 50% or 60% off of a Disney resort with my nephew's cast member discount, we're choosing to stay offsite on our little three night get-a-way. The Disney hotels that appeal to me the most even with the discount are just way out of my budget, and I'm doing too much offsite stuff to really make it worthwhile to be onsite at a moderate that I'm not all that excited about being at. I'm doing a SeaWorld get-a-way package and staying at the Renaissance right across the street from there. // For week long trips I usually do an offsite condo. I've also done some of the other nearby SeaWorld hotels for short mini trip and liked those too. I've never stayed at the Renaissance before though and wanted to try something new and thought I'd go a little bit for the wow factor. I'll have a rental car, so it was a little hard to pick this, given $18 a day parking fees, but I've always thought it would be fun to stay at this property and am finally giving it a whirl. Other than the parking, I have to say I thought the rate for this property was great with the package. We'll get in late on Friday. Our flight gets in after 10 p.m..

(2) Day 1 is our SeaWorld day. We'll get over there at 8:30 a.m. before the park opens and meet my cousin from Tampa who will spend the day with us and has a season pass. Our hotel package gave us the meal deal and quick queue and I'll buy those add ons for my cousin. Someone said the hotel might be able to give me a quick queue or two as a freebie for my relative, so I'll ask just in case. If my nephew isn't working he'll join us for all or part of this day, and I'll buy a ticket of him. SeaWorld is our favorite of the wonderful Orlando theme parks. We actually like them all.

(3) Day 2 // My nephew based on his work schedule will join us for all or some of this. We'll have breakfast in our room (cereal and fruit) and head out to the Titanic Experience on I drive and be there at opening at 10. We'll probably be there till 12 or 12:30. DS (17) is a big Titanic enthusiast, member of the Titanic Historical Society, want to do a college internship at the Titanic museum in Branson, MO, etc. and can't get enough of this kind of thing. // Next we'll have lunch by the pool at our report and enjoy the pool and hot tub for an hour or so. // After that we'll go to Epcot for the late afternoon / evening (figure I'll be there by 4 p.m. at the latest and the park is open till 9. -- We'll do a few Future World attractions, eat counter service there, and see IllumniNatons) If we have time, the Epcot attractions we'll hit are Test Track, the Seas with Nemo and Friends, Soarin, Living with the Land, and Ellen's Energy Adventure.
(4) Breakfast in our room again, check out, fly home on a 1 p.m. flight
