I recently did an opinion survey about a possible new pass for next year, not even named yet (names were some of the survey questions). Basically it was for 10 months and you would save more the earlier you bought it and used it, especially if you were a frequent user because it was a tiny bit more than the 7-day pass but you had up to 10 months instead of 7 days. It would only be good for those 10 months so the later you bought it the less use you would get out of it, but if you were going for an extended vacation (2 weeks or more) it would be cheaper than the 7-day pass. I wasn't too thrilled with it because I get the PAP for just slightly more and it didn't mention if you get free parking. Plus, they plan on some blackout dates. Not my cup of tea but something to watch for if you plan on a long vacation or a series of visits in 2009.

Me, I'll be looking for another PAP free year extension in 2009. I've averaged about $60/year for the past 6 years thanks to those. :yay:  :yay:

I'm supposed to be signed up for the surveys, but they never send 'em (never get my AP stuff either), but this pass doesn't sound too exciting. Looks like I'll just be hanging onto my Premier which pays for itself in free valet alone.

That kind of pass wouldn't interest me because of the possible blackout dates and maybe a lack of discounts so I'll stick with my PAP for now. :thumbsup2

Would the pass cost less than the power pass? We are going in March and August 2009; so this might be a good ticket for us.

Thanks for the heads up!

I took the survey,I gave them my opinion of the new pass but also made it clear that I like my preferred AP and as long as they keep the renewal at a good rate they have me for life.It used to be $99 and it went up to $110 this year which is more than fair with no blackout dates, free parking, discounts!!

the preferred annual pass went up to $117.20 in march this year.
that's what my renewal rate was for it.

the survey is a new one for me. hadn't heard about it until this thread.
maybe UO is trying to lure the parry hotter groupies in.....?

Yes, the pass sounds perfect for people in your situation and it's doubtful there would be any blackout dates would fall into those time frames. The $64,000 question is whether or not parking will be free.

Well, I received a "$99 AP" survey a while back, supposedly it will be announced in January/February, it stated something along the lines that USF, in solidarity with the public at this economic hard times, was lowering the price of the AP (the middle one I think).

i was in orlando for 2 weeks this month and just now playing ketchup on my emails.

i had a survey in my mail box all the time, just didn't see it until last night.
it wasn't the one about the passes but a different one.

maybe if i keep looking that pass survey will be buried later in my in box...

(that was a long survey on the one i did read, and i was even longer in my replies.....)

I guess FLA ressies donnt get that spiecial discount.:confused3 But on the preffered we do get 18months for the price of 1year.Still cost us $179+tax!!

$106.95 through AAA Auto Slub Of The South as of today. If there are any promotions through US such as 6 months added you get that when you go to the park to renew

yes we do get it or I should say we will when it comes out.. :goodvibes

the $99-$117 rates that some are speaking of is the renewal rate. In fact, the AP rate is no longer $179 but $199 to purchase new.. so consider yourself lucky...;)

this thread is about a new pass that US is contemplating on doing since the economy is not that great. It is not out yet. If and when it does come out, us FL residents will get it too.

I got the survey in my email. I don't think they will send the survey to someone who will not be able to take advantage of it. :goodvibes

When I took my survey, I made it clear in the comment section that if there were no discount perks and no free parking, I would not consider the pass. The extra money for the AP is money well spent in my eyes.

i started out with the preffered annual pass some years back when the promo of get one year free happened.
at that time the passes were $179 plus tax.
the renewal was set at $99 a year.

with the increase of that pap in march, the renewal was adjusted to it also.

there was a promo in september that if a person renewed their pap then, an additional 3 months would be added to it.
i renewed then instead of waiting until october.

i'll stick with my pap and renew each year.
i like the perks it has with it.

I'll go along with you there. :thumbsup2
