If it's going to be marketed to couples, maybe they're thinking king bed instead of queen and pull-out. I'd certainly prefer that over the current set-up.
Pod? Oh my.
I can't wait for the posts asking if a family can fit 6 people into a 2 person Pod because the kids are small and don't mind snuggling up.
I have always thought of Disney as a place for families, a unit for 2 wouldn't work so good. Wonder what demographic their are marketing towards?

There were 3 versions of the resort description for advertisements. One gave the concept of an old world Europe with luxurious furnishings and paintings adorning the place. The second capitalized on the Riveria aspect. The third promoted a family leisure feel like the laid back ways in Europe (talked about laying around the pool, leisurely eating, etc). There were no specific restaurant names that I can recall. They did mention having Belle-inis at the rooftop restaurant, which was also described as alfresco in one of the resort descriptions and that it would have views of Epcot and DHS. They also mentioned there would be a wine bar, leisure pools, some type of lounge with books Walt Disney collected in his European travels, manicured gardens, European influenced restaurants (mentioned getting cappuccino and gelato at the cafe specifically), and seasonal activities/entertainment inspired by European festivals. Oh and of course the talked about the gondolas too.
Thank you thank you! So enjoyed hearing more about what they are considering for the exciting details ahead!! We are especially excited about the themeing of this resort and think they are going to do an exquisite job!!!There were 3 versions of the resort description for advertisements. Me. My SO and I would consider this if we like the resort. We like Disney and have no children. Even though it's just the two of us, we're still a family, and it's nice to see Disney trying to incorporate more.
Lots of solos and couples go there.
I believe they were in addition since one question mentioned that the resort would have deluxe studios, 1 and 2 bedrooms, plus grand villas. Since it didn’t say “tower” studios in that question I took that to mean not all studios there would be tower studios but rather they would be a second studio category.Very interesting. If the tower studios are in addition to standard studios and a lower point cost, I'm all for it. Good option for the occasional solo trip or a couples trip where you won't be spending much time in the room.
I'm most curious to learn about the pool situation here. I'm glad to hear they at least mentioned the pools in one of the marketing descriptions, maybe they'll be nice. I would KILL for an adults only pool as well! (Hey, Four Seasons WDW and Waldorf Astoria WDW both have 'em!)
Given that the building is like 40% constructed, wouldn't the floor plan designs already be finalized? It would seem to suggest the marketing approach is up in the air, not whether there will be some sort of micro studios there or not.
I also sincerely doubt those "tower" studios will be a low cost option. DVD is not known for leaving money on the table. I hope I am in for a pleasant surprise. We're all thinking that the "tower studio" for 2 people would require fewer points. Let me suggest that while the size might be smaller, the tower studio may be the same cost as a regular studio because of the king bed amenity. I, for one, would stay in a "tower room" if I could get a king bed, because I'm the size of an NFL linebacker. In order to get a king bed elsewhere in DVC, one has to stay in a 1 bedroom, at significantly higher point cost.
