Just got the marketing survey this morning. Interesting to do it if you get the invite. It reveals some abstract ideas for the resort and the villas they will have there. Plus you get a $5 amazon gift code too.

Did it mention anything about occupancy for the rooms? Always looking for a more economical option for our family of 6.

The only mention of occupancy was that there will be studios unique to the Riviera that will be designed for occupancy of 2-so it looks like at least some of the studios are going to be tiny studios marketed to couples.
It did say there would be studios, 1 and 2 bedrooms, plus grand villas there.

Interesting Thanks! Depending on point value, studios that sleep 2 would be helpful because then we could also get a studio sleeping 4 or 5 and all fit...if the price was right!

Tiny studios for a couple, that is ridiculous, I want a deluxe studio, not something smaller. A lot of DVC couples spend more time in the room than families, perhaps couples need the bigger studio. Why does DVC always think it is okay to chop off space in studios? They build the 1 Bedrooms with large wide living rooms and then only allow most of them to sleep four, but add another bed to the much narrower studio. If I wanted a smaller room than a standard deluxe studio, I would booked a moderate or a value and not bother to buy into DVC. Hopefully DVC will not go through with that crazy idea.

They called them tower studios. They said they would be luxurious and space efficient accommodations for 2 so it sounded like it was pretty certain as opposed to just considering ideas for future development. It was included in questions asking about which of Riviera’s attributes would make me most likely to purchase (vs say the gondola transportation or the rooftop restaurant with views the nighttime spectaculars at Epcot and DHS). This survey was very similar to one I got regarding marketing materials for CCV before it opened.

Maybe the tower studios will be a significantly lower point schedule to attract new buyers who are couples? Maybe something along the line of BWV Standard View studio point schedule? It could make for a good selling point as the sales personnel like to show the savings with DVC. They could run all their cost-saving illustrations with these studios (if lower point schedule). Hard to say but I'm with @DenLo in that I wouldn't want a smaller studio than the usual size of DVC studios.

If the tower studio only sleeps two, does that mean there is no couch??? No thank you! I'll just get a hotel room then.
I wondered that-clearly it means no sleeper sofa but I wondered if there was just a chair or two vs an actual sofa

Does anyone recall more of the questions that were asked?! My aunt who is also DVC told me about it. I did not receive the survey but she felt they sent is to her because she was just on property. She mentioned something about different restaurant names, or different ways of describing how luxurious this property would be. I'd love to hear more about the different questions they asked if anyone would care to share!

Might be great for one person/solo traveler. Grandma/in-law, "adult" child.

We started enjoying the 1 BDR as a couple. Getting spoiled. I wonder how many sq. feet they will be.

Interesting. No survey

Surely there's at least something comfy to sit in. Of course, it could have a pullout couch and no actual bed. Technically, that sleeps two. But surely no one is that oblivious to what DVC owners like.

If they are going to take out the actual mugs and glasses from studios, they either are clueless or just do not care. We had a real fight on our hands to get the ceramic mugs and glasses back. No way did I want styrofoam cups.:headache:

Back in February someone had posted that while at the lounge in Epcot they were asked about names for these 2 person studios.....should they be built.

I take a lot from the suggestions: Micro Studio, European Studio, European Studette and Pod.

Pod? Oh my.

I got it too, and it was very enjoyable. They showed a "proposed" advertisement and asked about different features that were important/not important-unique dining, pool features, family areas, etc. Now I'm waiting for my $5 gift code. Fun and good pay for no more than 15 minutes of "work".

You are so right! I guess anything is possible.

I sure wish I could get invited. I love doing surveys, and I love Amazon gift cards!

There were 3 versions of the resort description for advertisements. One gave the concept of an old world Europe with luxurious furnishings and paintings adorning the place. The second capitalized on the Riveria aspect. The third promoted a family leisure feel like the laid back ways in Europe (talked about laying around the pool, leisurely eating, etc). There were no specific restaurant names that I can recall. They did mention having Belle-inis at the rooftop restaurant, which was also described as alfresco in one of the resort descriptions and that it would have views of Epcot and DHS. They also mentioned there would be a wine bar, leisure pools, some type of lounge with books Walt Disney collected in his European travels, manicured gardens, European influenced restaurants (mentioned getting cappuccino and gelato at the cafe specifically), and seasonal activities/entertainment inspired by European festivals. Oh and of course the talked about the gondolas too.

Interesting about a 2 person studio. Recently spent a weekend at the Yotel in Boston where the rooms are called cabins. It was small, but it worked and the location and price were prefect. But we spend like to camp and cruise so a small room is OK. Undecided if I like it for DVC.

It’s funy to speculate about what these studios for 2 would look like. I wonder if the tower name gives any clue. Rather than giving it a name that refers to its (supposed) smaller size they picked something that in my opinion evokes a mental image of something tall and slender.....twin bunkbeds? Just kidding but seriously it made me think about being in college dorms and the loft bed concept where we would put our desks/couches etc under the bed in order to maximize the space in those long narrow rooms....or maybe that new couch Murphy bed they were pilot testing at SSR will be making an appearance-that could definitely explain the occupancy of 2-nobody can sleep on the sofa if it is under the bed lol
