Anyone else disappointed in Pirates? **Spoilers**

I was disappointed in PiratesII, it was an OK movie but that's about it...

No character development - the only new thing we learned about these characters is with Will relationship to his father. There was not much introduction to the characters. It felt like we were tossed into the middle of a movie, which some would argue we were since we had already seen part I. I would rather not have to watch the first one to enjoy the second.

Too much violence - It is an action movie but the violence just didn't seem to end. I thought they could have shortened some of those seens.

Very similar story to Pirates I - I found the plot to very similar to Pirates I. Couldn't they have thought of something different?

I have also been disappointed with Disney's marketing of this movie. They have been directly marketing this to young children but yet it is a violent PG-13 movie.
its not that bad
i think this movie rocks! cant wait for three i will see it the day it comes out
HURRY UP DISNEY WE WANT THE MOVIE!!!!!

Uh, Barbossa is alive, because the frickin Voodoo Witch brought him back to life. It's this thing that Voodoo Witchs do. I mean, what the heck, they're going to get Jack who is now Dead.

As to what the Witch specifically did to make Barbossa alive, why not hold the question till movie 3, since they'll explain it then?

That's it!! I didn't stay either, and was going to ask what it was at the end of the credits everyone said I should have stayed for. And that's it!?!?!

It always amazes us that just about everybody walks out before the end of the credits at Disney movies, never realizing something will show up at the very end.......

But in this case, you would have wasted 5 minutes of your life staring at credits for nothing.

Well I guess some people like it -- looks like it's going to break $1B worldwide. :) pirate:

I was only commenting on the last little tidbit. You could see that one coming down broadway. The movie was a B+ to me.

That's true...well perhaps "always" is something of a stretch. But this time, I can thank myself for not staying. A joke my 4 year old nephew could have though up is not something I would happily wait through a full list of credits for.

I find all of this to be funny.

The movie is based on the ride. Now the ride is based on the movie. :lmao:

...And at least the movie has made enough $$ to "update" the ride! pirate:

imagine if the have Eddie Murphy inside the Haunted Mansion ride... now that would be spooky!

I'm sure people said that about the monkey too.

I always like to stay through the credits when I can to show respect for those that made the movie and as a little anal thing. The movie isn't over till the MPAA symbol is displayed, but that's just me being a nerd.

I've been made fun of before as I've always been one to watch the credits of any movie I've seen. :happytv:

I wonder when ABC airs Pirates 1 this Sunday if they show the whole credit part. Usually TV stations just whipped thru the credits in a few moments. pirate:

But there's a difference between "those that made the movie" and the third assistant accounting clerk for the second unit's electrical department's catering company. Credits these days are nothing but printouts of company phone directories.

Yeah, and don't even bother trying to sit through a set of Star Wars credits.
LEt's thank the SFX PC monkey's kid's hamster.

Depp just looked so silly all the time, running like a girl

I laughed SO hard when I read this because I thought the same thing but my two teenage daughters got mad when I said it! But I LOVED the movie. . . especially the end. . . I mean NO ONE could have guessed it. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Depp's performance, a reprise of his amusing tricks from the first film, was the only reason to see this. There was no earthly reason for a pirate movie to be over two hours long. In the 1930's this would have been a 70 minute diversion.

Johnny Depp is the only reason I sat thru POTC 2 (3 times  ) :thumbsup2

Orlando would be a good 2nd reason!! :goodvibes

loved it, thought Johhny was even better! Saw it 2 times! POTC3 is out on Memorial Day 2007 :cool1:
