Ever since our AP's expired in December, I've been really disappointed in the cost to either getting new AP's or hoppers :( We're a family of four & have been passholders for years, but it seems as if the affordability is slipping away... I guess I'm miffed that there is no longer a Disney Club discount... Our next trip we're doing Seaworld for a long weekend, we're not even doing Disney parks!! I'm just really depressed about it.... Anyone else feel the same way?

I hear you, Chris, it is expensive, but entertainment in general, is expensive. For what you get, I think it is still a good value. And there is a $15 DC discount still, if you buy your AP in advance.

I try to look at it this way....
If I go to a movie....1 1/2 hours.. $7
go to a sports event....4 hours ... $11-30 dollars
go to WDW for a day ... 10am to 6pm....8hours... $54
break it down...
movie.... 4.66 an hour
sports event...... 3.75 an hour
WDW..... 6.75 an hour
Now if you buy an AP and go 10 days, your cost per hour is $4.91.
Now it doesn't make the cost hurt any less, but it helps me justify spending the money:D

Have you looked into getting park pass from Paramount? Their prices are pretty good.

I wish I could go to a movie for only $7.00:(

The prices really are sky high, but I guess it must be worth paying, because we always find some way to do it. Disney has us wrapped right around it's little finger. ;)

What I like about WDW, is I can make a reservation and pay off my room and passes over time. That's the only way I can afford it. I don't know if other vacation destinations allow you to do that.

I agree that the price of park passes are expensive. But when you look at what all you can see and do plus hop from park to park without driving your car, its worth it. I just have to pay and forget the cost. I compare the cost to Six Flags and WDW wins hands down.

Since my only child is all grown up and moved away and my dh is severely Disney impaired, I only have to worry about buying an AP for myself so I don't find myself depressed over it. I probably would be depressed if I was faced with 4 times the cost, though.

:(

I am planning a trip for Sept. DS, DIL, GS (16) and GD (7) are coming with us. I told DS that DH and I would pay for the grandkids. Yeah, it is going to be expensive, but worth every penny to see the look on the grandkid's faces, they have never been there (either has DIL).

But yes, I agree, definately not cheap!

I stopped being depressed and stopped buying them! I'm a single parent and the price was WAY out of my league. On the other hand I bought my USF/IOA APs for $99 Georgia Rate. It looks like that's all we can afford for now!
