anyone else concerned???

Are these conventions really going to impact the parks? I thought they didn't really make a difference in park attendance because they stay at the resort all day. :confused3

Either way, I'm excited to go back the week before Thanksgiving, I think the crowds are going to be low and the weather is going to be amazing and even if there are slightly larger crowds than last year, I don't care, I'll be in Disney World!!

Oh, and I got an ADR at Le Cellier for dinner a few nights ago for the first night of our trip, so there is still hope! :cool1:

LOL you better start worrying, because everyone is going that week this year!

:rotfl2:

We're going for an abbreviated week Nov 14th-19th. First time this time of year, so hoping for low crowds. We picked it based on the crowd calendar, so here's hoping!

We will be there the 12th-21st as well. We have always been in Sept and it has been so crazy hot that we are looking forward to the cooler weather more than anything. We are definitely hoping for low crowds though as we have read so many times that the crowd levels are great that week. :thumbsup2

our dates are 18 to 24th. wow I had no idea about the ntce convention.

now im worried!

We are going the 12th-18th. Like a pp said, I booked more based on weather than anything. Our trip last October was so much hotter than I expected!

I want to try and hit up F&W at least for a couple hours. I know it is going to be ridiculous since it is the last weekend but I want to hit up at least a couple food booths!

Well wouldn't you know it, our exact dates are 11/18-11/21. Our first night we're doing MVMCP so hopefully crowds won't be too bad at that hard ticket event. We expected pretty decent crowds on the 19th and 20th because it's a Fri/Sat and those days are generally more crowded no matter what time of year. Since we'll be celebrating DH's birthday (the 18th) we didn't really have too much choice in the matter!! We will go into it with a good touring plan, a lot of positivity, and I'm sure we'll have a great time!! I think we should all keep our eyes out for LGMH though with all these dis-ers in the World at the same time!! :thumbsup2

I'll be at MVMCP that day too! :santa:

My family and I have been there two years in a row (2008 & 2009) the week before Thanksgiving. We are convinced that it might just be the best week of the year to go - very low crowds and fantastic weather. Conventions or no conventions you should expect the same this year. Have a great trip! :)

Same here (family has been going that same week two years in a row) and I agree 100% :thumbsup2

Yes, I'm getting a little concerned. We're going 11/10-20 and picked those dates because of the milder weather and low crowds. I made all of my ADRs back in May, but wanted to move a few recently and found almost everything totally booked! I looked at availability at the Poly (where we're staying) and there is nothing open on those dates. Yikes. I wasn't expecting a jam packed resort and restaurants. I know we'll love our trip either way, but the resorts and parks are much more enjoyable (to us anyway) if they are not packed.

I'm with you, I didn't think the conventions would impact the parks that much. I'm sure they have to spend some time doing convention stuff.

As far as Le Cellier, I'm jealous. I keep trying for dinner instead of our lunch and can't get one. But oh well. Like you said there is still hope. I need to try more often. I love the computer reservation program.

if you are that concerned, then stay home. Let's face it...most likely any day that YOU are there, other people are going to be there as well. That's just the way Disney works. (or any other public place for that matter.)

My GF sorta invited herself and hubby along on our vacation...which is fine..we enjoy their company, etc and are very much looking forward to seeing WDW all over again in their eyes. But I better not hear ONE WORD about the weather, the crowds, the money...WE were going to Disneyworld anyway...we know what it's like.

Ooooh, good thread...I'm preparing myself for next week. :P

Ever notice how some companies with "secret" recipies closely guard thier secrets?? There are a few "'secrets" when it comes to WDW and best times to go, while not top secret, are things that Disney veterans know......and unfortunately sometimes, share!! Yes I know thats one of the purposes of this board but there are way more lurkers here than you know. I think over the course of a few years, enough people read these posts about the "November Crowds" and make their plans according to what they read. I LOVE going there in NOV during specific weeks, but i notice the levels creeping up over my last few visits. If people keep coming to this site and read that NOV has low crowds, then the low crowds wont last much longer. I know its a little sneaky, but on other threads and other boards, i always steer novices to late Nov (after Thanksgiving) saying crowds are low, which they are, but i guess im a little greedy and want Nov to myself, so to speak. Anyone else feel this way, or see this happening??

We're scheduled to go 11/18-25th. It's too late to change that now! We went at that time, since the kids have the whole week of Thanksgiving off, so they just have to miss 2 days of school. We booked about 45 days ago. I called for dining about a month ago & was able to get Chef Mickey's. I've been able to get other ressies since & am still working some out.
I think the free dining coupled with that fact that you can set-up as many ressies on-line, makes people just book whatever, in case they are at that park at that time. At least I'm hoping. I still have 2 more TS meals to figure out!

DH and I will be there 11/12-11/20. The conventions don't worry me too much. I don't care what happens or what the crowds are, we will be enjoying our adult vacations!

I'm worried too-our dates are Nov.13-23; Worried that it can't get here fast enough!!!!:cool1:

I agree, let's steer them to the end of November. It's a nice time, we were there last year at that time. So they will still have fun. :rolleyes1

I already posted in this thread but wanted to update:

I booked CRT and Le Cellier & Chef Mickey's (twice) 2 nights ago..... I'm not worried! But I AM crazy excited!!!!
