Just wondering how many of you are searching for airfare and are looking specifically at the carriers that service ME both ways for luggage pick up. Obviously, since SW, Jet Blue, etc, are not one of these carriers, as well as some of the other smaller airlines, it might be cheaper to sacrifice hauling your luggage back on the bus on your own for a cheaper airfare price that doesn't have the return service with RE. In your opinion, which would you go for...a cheaper flight or the convieniece of round trip ME, even if it's slightly higher in price for the flight? We have a 2 year old, so I'm trying to way convenience over price...anyone else, or is this a no-brainer and I'm missing it? :rolleyes1

We are a family of 3, DH, DS (13) and myself...price rules for us! We can schlep our bags from the resort to the bus and it's not a big deal!! Also, I do prefer a non-stop flight, but when the difference between that and a one stop is almost $100, I'll stop over...not a problem...besides, DS, who's trying to visit all 50 states before he turns 18 will get to check off PA from his list thanks to the stop over. Also, ours is a 30 minute stop...just enough time to get off our first plane and get onto the second.

The only, "rats, wish this worked out better" for us, is that we won't have any time to speak of to grab some lunch...so, I'm going to pack some non-perishable sandwiches, chips and drinks in my carry-on for us and told DH and DS they will just have to eat or starve till we get to WDW!!! (Yeah, I guess I am a kind and loving wife and mother....and tough!)

I guess, for me saving some cash so that I can spend more at the most magical place is better for me...and hey, I've traveled solo with a 4 month old, his car seat, stroller, diaper bag, and two carry ons from St. Louis to San Juan, Puerto Rico via Atlanta...by myself! so the above itinerary is really no big deal!

Jet Blue will probably be on board shortly.

I pick flights based on time and price. If the times and price was similar I might give a preference to a participating airline.

We're flying American specifically for resort check-in on the return flight. We are spending about $20 more than the cheapest fare we could find when we booked, which was worth it to us to be able to bypass checkin at MCO.

Price only! ME not a factor! I can carry my own bags because I don't overpack to begin with!

6 more days until - happiness!!!!

I am sure you could stop in the great food court at the airport and grab some food instead of waiting to get to the resort.

Price rules for my family. Most likely we will not use ME; all our luggage has wheels so we can schlep it around easily. I prefer the freedom a rental car provides.

I thought for Southwest they still take your baggage from the airport, but just don't check it in for you at the airport? We had free rewards on SW so it was either fly free or pay for it.

No matter what airline you are flying into Orlando on will take your luggage to the resort. It is only the return trip that you have to worry about if your airline is partcipating in check in for the flight. If it isn't participating then you will have to transport your own luggage on the bus to the airport and check yourself in.
