Just wondering and if so did everything go smoothly? I just booked the Dolphin. I feel out of my element doing it online as opposed to phoning. Silly huh? ;) :)

I think I can make you feel much better. We just got back yesterday (2/18) from a 4 night stay at the Dolphin that was arranged through Dreams Unlimited. We had a wonderful time at The Dolphin. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Our room was very nice and clean. All my plans made through Dreams Unlimited - such as priority seating reservations worked great. I thought all the facilities at the hotel were great. The pools were lovely and fun for my 5 year old DD. We ate at Tubbi's buffeteria one day at lunch and it was fine. We also had a character breakfast on Sunday morning at the Coral Cafe. The food was very good and the character interaction was great. I know some people think The Dolphin doesn't have "Disney Magic" but I thought it did. The only drawback - if there was one - was that is is a very large hotel. It takes a while to learn your way around. Also, the rooms only have double beds. We stayed on the concierge level and also had a very nice breakfast every morning. The hotel is within walking distance of EPCOT, Broadwalk, and MGM. The bus service to the other parks was fast and efficient. Hope this helps and enjoy your stay!

I tried to book a room at the Swan with DU, however did not. I ended up getting a better deal ($147.50) a night booking on my own using a code.

i used dreams for the first time for this coming trip. So far so good. My ressie shows up in the starwood website and I have called and checked a few things out and all is well. Even booked priority seating, i'll let you know how that goes when i get there.

We used Dreams Unlimited to book a room at the Dolphin during this past Christmas week - everthing was perfect (even our priority seatings which DU also handled for us). Don't hesitate for a second...DU was very responsive to our emails and we got a great AP rate through them even though the Dolphin was full!:D ::D :D

Also booked the Dolphin (ap rate) with DreamRes and then had them transfer the ressie over to DisSavers. Communication has been great and no problems at all. My reservation however, doesn't show up on Starwood website, so curious about that. I have used DreamRes twice and highly reccommend it.

Just back 2/18 from the Swan, booked through DU, had VERY good service from DU, they switched us from the Dolphin to the Swan at the RN rate when the site was showing no availability (we needed the queen sized beds for the kids sleeping together). They booked our PS too.

Email Starwood and they will give you a different reservation number for looking up your reservation. I also made my upgrade request through the Swan/Dolphin site, and the upgrade showed up on the Starwood site-all different ressie numbers!

CSMCIC-we were there at the same time as you! There is a kiosk near the Gulliver's Grill open at 6am that has muffins, croissants, Krispy Kremes (!), cereal, fruit and cartons of milk and juice, so I got our breakfasts there each am. I too felt no lack of Disney magic. The Swan/Dolphin location can't be beat-we walked back after the Epcot fireworks in 15 min. I liked the proximity to the Boardwalk and Yacht Club too.

Mitla96 glad your vacation was wonderful. I have 3 questions for you.

1. Did you have to use points to be upgraded.

2. Were you upgraded to club level(consierge)?

3. Which Swan rooms have a view of Epcot at night?

We will be at the Swan & my ressies show like this on the starwood site:

Room Description Whimsical Themed Room With View Of Crescent Lake. Room Amenities Traditional Non-Smoking, Lake View, Courtyard View, Hollywood Bath, Armoire/Tv/Stocked Minibar

I am trying to figure out what I will be facing with a lake & courtyard view. Any help will be apprecited.

TIA

Hi CS Mommy!

We had SUCH a good time, it was hard to come home to dreary old Michigan! I'll try to answer your questions...

1. Did you have to use points to be upgraded.

We just got the Starwood card before this trip, so we didn't have points! I made two very humble, tentative requests for an upgrade on the Swan/Dolphin website. We were upgraded from a "limited" view to a view description like what you have. I will post a picture on the Swan/Dolphin thread tomorrow-(got to read the instructions in my Digital camera book again).

2. Were you upgraded to club level(consierge)?

No, we were just given the view upgrade, but we did have the Heavenly beds (Rm 620). I was fine with not having the conceiarge (sp)-our room was already so deeply discounted with the RN rate I felt the view upgrade was special enough. And, like I said in the previous post, we got breakfast food easily from the Swan kiosk-I never spent more than $20 a morning for PLENTY of food for the 4 of us-and actually had KK's left over to snack on later. If you wanted hot food, one morning after using the Dolphin exercise room, I brought hot take out breakfst from Tubbis back-they let me bring it back on a tray in take out containers.

3. Which Swan rooms have a view of Epcot at night?

Our room view was of the landing between the Dolphin and the Swan, where the boats go to Epcot and the Boardwalk. We could see joggers in the morning. I'm pretty sure my description was identical to yours, and it was a pretty view.

I'll be posting a trip report later on the Swan/Dolphin thread-I'm working 12 hour shifts (to pay for this trip!) next two days.

Lots of stranded Nyers and New Englanders at the Swan-we were very disappointed that Detroit was blizzard free!

I used DU to book my ressie for May 51-June 6 (teacher rate). When I called the Dolphin res system, I was told no availability--but DU got it with no trouble. They were also able to get me a wheelchair equipped room. This also shows up on the starwood page. They also made all my ressies so far. I am very pleased!
