Anyone either take PSAT or have a child take PSAT test today?

All of the sophmores and juniors at my DS' school took the PSAT test today. This is the test that is used for selection of National Merit semi-finalists.

Last year my DS took it as a sophomore and did very well (he was right at the National Merit cutoff). Since my DW and I were both National Merit Scholars, I am hoping he does as well as last year or better.

Our Sophomores and Juniors took it today. My dd was one of them.

My Sophmore took it a couple of weeks ago. When do we get the results?

My dd missed it. She's home with hives. She was so upset until I convinced her they will let her take it.

How about those of us who administered it? Actually the kids did have the tough job. I think results come back in December.

Most of my school is taking it this Saturday, including me. I have a lot of friends who have band or cross country competitions on Saturday, though, so they are all taking it right this moment.

I am done with PSATs myself WHOO HOO
and SATs as well..all i have left is 3 SAT II Subject Tests.

My class had 3 students receive something from National Merit..just recognition.no money

What are these? DD is a Freshmen, so we just started discussing things like this, but this is new to me.

They told my son that it would be early december before he hears the results.

SAT IIs are fairly recent. In addition to the normal SAT, there are now separate tests in individual subjects. My son has already taken the SAT IIs in world history and biology. Some colleges now require a couple of SAT IIs in various courses for admissions.

and then i get to find some food and then be ready to march at 12:30! oh joy joy!

so i'm gonna be gone from my house from 7:30 until 7:30 at nite!

oh marching contests are wonderful! LOL! as long as we make a one it's all good
