I did, and although I enjoyed my meal, I swear they gave me the absolute worst table in the place. I've been kicking myself for not saying anything. I'd love to go back and sit out on the porch. Have any solos who've eaten at Tony's asked for and gotten (or not asked for but still gotten) porch seating? You know, that big garden room. I guess what I'm most interested in is if solo's who've eaten at Tony's have gotten nice seating, or is this sort of their unwritten policy-to give solos the crummy table? I must say that this has never happened to me anywhere else.

I had a solo lunch there once, and I thought my table location was OK, not bad, not great, but OK.

I ate lunch there (my first solo trip!) in Feb. I sat just inside the door of the main seating area, where everyone had to walk past me. It was a little bit awkward. Most of the tables were empty, both inside and out, so I don't know how they picked that spot. My main issue was that the waiter totally ignored me except to drop my food on the table as he rushed by. When I was obviously ready to leave, I waited for a long time, and instead of bringing my bill, he dropped a dessert menu on my table (as he rushed by.) I figured he was more interested in the larger groups, because a single person would not tip much. I was so irritated that I did indeed not tip much....

Your experience with your server sounds like mine, also, at least until near the end. I'd forgotten about that part until you reminded me. I finally flagged down the manager to get ahold of my server when I wanted more water-she (my server) was somewhat more attentive after that.;)

It has been years but I ate there solo in 2008 and they gave me a terrible table. I did not protest at the time- it was my first solo! But now I would protest...I am not likely to go back because I do not like the food...

I had a solo dinner at Tony's. My table was fine - not great, but not bad either. But the server was very friendly and chatted about my carb-loading for the upcoming marathon :)

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences :(

I ate dinner solo before the Christmas party a couple of years ago. My table was fine - partway through the restaurant. My server was fantastic. I think the other tables were getting fed-up with her spending lots of time chatting with me at my table! I remember telling my family what a great experience I had there and didn't feel like I was dining alone :)
The food on the other hand was waaaaaay to garlicky!
