I had a look at the menu for Palio on Deb's site and it looks yummy! Would love to hear experiences, good and bad, of anyone who has eaten there.....how was the food, atmosphere, service? OK for children?! We love Italian food and ate at Portobello Yacht Club the last two trips, but felt that the quality had dipped on our last visit and want to try somewhere new!!

We had dinner there on Monday, November 28th. It was our first time there and we were impressed. The service is outstanding and the food was too die for. We shared the risotto appetizer, I had a pasta and lobster dish, my husband had chicken dish, my dad had the minestrone soup and a salad and my mom had the pasta and lobster dish. Everyone loved the food and the ambience. There was a family behind us with two small children and I believe they ordered pizza. Also, there is an older gentleman there who plays the mandolin I believe - he is excellent - very sweet and plays the mandolin beautifully - we requested a couple of Frank Sinatra songs. We will definately go back to Palio's on our next trip to Disney.

We've dined at Palio and enjoy it greatly. The atmosphere is a little more sedate than most Disney restaurants, however.

During our last two visits we had dinner at Palio. Both times great service and food. The quite atmospher is a great change of pace after the parks.

I dined there about a year ago. My friend and I both enjoyed our meals very much.

We have dined there about 6 times, and haven't had a bad experience yet.
The food is always great, and the service is usually outstanding.
It usually ends up being the most relaxing meal of the trip.
Go... I know you will enjoy it!

We eat there last May, family of ten. The meal was very good. :Pinkbounc

All these good reviews are making me very happy  We have ADR's to eat there for Christmas day.

We eat here almost every trip now. We usually stay at the S or D. Whether we order the "special" of the evening or one of their delicious regular entrees (like the lobster & tortelloni which is DEFINTIELY enough for 2 & quite yummy!!), veal marsala or even a pizza it's always been good.

Been taking 7 yr old dd there since she was 3 and she's always liked it. They will even accomodate "picky" eaters. She's had grilled cheese several times which isn't on the menu there (they have it at Gulliver's across the way). Last month when dd and I went, we split a pizza and she loved it. Michaele is a great server especially with the kids. If he waits on you and you have children don't be surprised if he comes along with a 3 ft long straw for their drinks!! And, he's a real kidder!! LOL :rotfl:

This is quite a relaxing meal, ALWAYS excellent food and excellent service :teeth: For anyone wanting Italian at WDW, I'd recommend PALIO first and we've been to the "others".

That is sort of why we chose Palio. We were not impressed with Alfredo's the one time we ate there and Mama Melrose's menu doesn't really seam that interesting.

Thanks
