We have ressies for GF cafe while 1900 Park Faire is undergoing rehab. I understand it will not be a buffet, but a plated meal. Has anyone gone yet? What's the food like? What can we expect? My DD really wanted to go to see Prince Charming, Perla and Suzy.

I have an ADR for August. When I booked it I was unaware that 1900 would be closed for rehab. I would also like to hear what it's like while they do it at GF cafe. Perhaps this thread can be bumped after it starts in the GFC.

I just looked up the dates. It it closed July 9 thru October 1, 2007.

We should hear something in a couple of weeks.

The meals at 1900 Park are buffets. The meals at GF Cafe will be plated.

GF Cafe's "normal" lunch will be served in Citricos during the rehab. That is a 1TS meal. Citricos is a dinner restaurant and will contine to operate as a normal 2TS Signature dining restaurant during the rehab.

I made a GF @ Citricos ADR this week but its not until Aug 31st.

OK, so now it's after July 9 has anyone been to the Gala Feast at the temp. location?

There's another thread on the restaurant board asking the same question, but we haven't gotten a response yet. Bumping so this stays at the top. I probably couldn't change my reservation even if I wanted to at this late date.
:)

I agree that changing at this point is probably not possible. I am still dying to know how it's going with the changes.

I'm curious to know too. We just got back and ate at 1900 Park Fare and at the GF Cafe. We had super SLOW service at the GF Cafe (and they weren't full at all) -- so bad that I included it on our survey from Disney. I wonder how they're going to do with the temp. character dining there. Hopefully the servers will move a little faster with a full restaurant.

That makes me worried. Our ADR is for the night of the P&P party. We need to get going so we can get in line for Jack Sparrow!

We ate there on July 15 for my youngest DD's birthday. It was very nice. The characters were Cinderalla, Prince Charming, Perla, Susie, and the Fairy Godmother. We had a choice of appetizer, entree and dessert was brought out on a platter. My daughter and I had strawberry soup which was devine for our appetizer. My husband, youngest DD, and I had prime rib for our entree and I can't remember what my oldest DD had. The food was very good, the characters were wonderful. The staff was still adjusting to the changes but I felt they were doing a very good job. I would recommend it and we would do it again.

Does anyone know the menu for this dinner since it has changed to the GF Cafe?? Just wondering where I can see it. Thanks!

We ate there for breakfast on July 13th. We were given a menu to choose from. I had the stuffed French Toast. It was stuffed with banana's and drizzled with chocolate syrup. It was SOOOO good. There was great character interaction. The characters that were there was: Tigger, Winnie The Pooh, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, The Mad Hatter. Alice & the Mad Hatter were great. He really acted the part. They all came around several times.

Ate lunch at GFCafe in January when it was still GFC. It was our first meal on property and we both loved it. The French Onion Soup was delish and the room is very pretty in a Victorian sort of motif. We had wonderful service when we were there. Not sure how it will be as a character meal area, as it didn't seem all that big to me. I would go back just for the Grand Floridian atmosphere.

I'm curious to here more about the food and service. Particularly for the Gala Feast.
