Just wondering if anyone had a review of this place. Our DD turns 21 tomorrow and we will be in Orlando next week. She has a fascination for Cuba--especially circa 1950's and we were thinking about taking her there for dinner or perhaps dessert and a birthday drink. I've read some reviews that say ambiance is incredible and they have live music, salsa dancers. However, food is pricey and not that good.

Just wondering what my fellow DIS'rs think about the place.

Sorry I can't help you there since I've never been to Cuba Libre on I-Drive. Too bad you aren't going to be in Miami instead. Lots of great Cuban restaurants there. A particularly excellent choice (with truly authentic and delicious food) is Versailles on Calle Ocho. Lots of Cubans line up to go there every day. The restaurant is owned by Cubans and only Cubans cook the meals. You know it's good when you see entire Cuban families dining there. Lots of other Latino, Caribbean, and South Americans go there for 'the real deal.' No I don't own the place. :rotfl: I just love their food! :thumbsup2

Btw, if your daughter is fascinated with Cuba circa 1950's have her watch the movie, The Lost City, with Andy Garcia. She'll absolutely love it. :thumbsup2

I was in the one in Phili and LOVE it- I plan to go to I-drives on our trip. The empanadas and mojitos are awesome.

Thanks for the movie recommedation--I'll pass it on.

Jm106--Glad to hear you enjoyed it and plan to visit the Orlando location. I'll report back if we decide to give it a try.
