We're thinking of trying the SciFi for dinner during our next trip. It seems SciFi gets mixed reviews, but since we're getting the DP free this trip anyway, we're thinking of trying SciFi, with the attitude that we nave nothing to lose!

Most people seem to mention the burgers there, however there aren't any burgers on the dinner menu. Has anyone tried the dinner menu and if so, what would you recommend or avoid?

Thanks!

We ate there for dinner when we were there last month. I had the ribs which I probaly wouldn't recommend to anyone but a couple others in our group had a chicken sandwhich they liked. I love the Sci Fi because the cars and the movie and cartoon clips but I will probably stick with lunch from now on.

By the way the chocolate tart was good!

I'm in the middle. The atmosphere is awesome. Sitting in cars watching cheesy movies is really fun. It was cool inside so I can see how it woul dbe a nice place to get out of the sun and heat. On the other hand, my wife and I both disliked the food. She had a pulled pork sandwich and I had a grilled chicken sandwich. Both were "meh...". The fries were soggy. But we will both do it again because of the atmosphere. :rolleyes1

we just stick to burgers, fries & shakes (regardless of whether we're there for lunch or dinner) - keeps with the drive-in atmosphere (plus they can't mess up burgers)

I agree, stick to the burgers! My kids and I love the Sci-Fi and it's a must stop each trip.

We went to Sci-Fi last year for dinner. Even though the burgers are not on the dinner menu you can order them. The food was ok but the service was lousy.

We did have a great time sitting in the car watching the movies. So if you have never been then I say at least try it once.

For us we've been there done that so we will try someplace different this year.

It's a cute, must-do at least once in your WDW-Going lifetime. The food isn't as good as 50's Prime Time or Mama Melrose, but it's still a fun place to eat. I've actually been twice.

We have done Sci Fi on several occassions. Stick to the lunch fare. They have good appetizers, burgers and shakes. Go for the ambience, not the dinner menu.

:goodvibes :goodvibes

i rather remember enjoying my chicken penne pasta (not on the menu) during lunch. not a red meat kinda person myself.

Though the children liked the movies and eating in the cars, we did not like the food and we are not pickey eaters at all. The waitress noticed that we were not eating and offered something else. When we said "no thank you" she put our TS back on our cards and we were on our way. We had the free ddp but we really didn't like the food.

If you decide to go, stick to lunch. The menu reads more like CS than TS.

I love the Sci Fi. It's one of my favorite places to eat at while I'm at Disney. They have a really good chicken sandwich, with barbeque sauce. I think the milkshakes are the best I've ever had.

This is gonna sound like heresy, but ... DD and friend had shrimp penne pasta and split it on a visit last fall. Doggone if it wasn't really tasty.

I'm not a Sci-Fi basher, but I will say it can be inconsistent. In recent visits we've just gotten dessert in the middle of the afternoon, and it makes for a nice break.

I'm actually quite surprised that people like the Sci-Fi restaurant. We thought the service and food was horrible! We have spoken with two other families who have said the same thing. I don't recommend it at all!

I loved our hostess and the atmosphere, but the food was not that good. I probably would go back just so DH can see what it is like, but that would be it.
