Anyone done DL Paris with DVC??

We spent 3 nights at the DLP Disneyland Hotel using DVC points. A very positive experience. Park admission is included as well as a nice breakfast. Room was great, very roomy. DLP was fun and I thought several of teh attractions were better than the DL or WDW counterparts.

We were going to use DVC points for a room at the Disneyland Hotel next July. Then the points went waaaayyyyy up and I nixed that. I rented the points I was going to use before the increase and I'll make a cash reservation.

We did also in July, and had a great time. Take clothing that you can layer. While we were there, a couple of days it turned very cold/rainey & windy. We ended up buying jackets. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, and UPH's were included. The Metro terminates right there next to the resort, so it's real easy to hop into Paris anytime, about 30 minutes away as I remember. We dis it several times. The Metro is very easy to get around in. Breakfast is free, and wow what a breakfast they put on. There is also a California Grill there also. You must do Buffalo Bills Dinner Show. A recreation of the show live with horses, buffalo, chuck wagons, the French's idea of "western BBQ" type of meal. Very interesting. We flew into CDG and took the VEA bus, big red touring type of Disney bus, to the resorts at DLP directly. Have fun!!

we had a great Halloween at Newport Bay .

So let me see if I have this correct.....if you stay at the Disneyland Hotel with your DVC points, you receive FREE UPH and breakfast? Is there some discount code you have to use to get this? We are talking about going next summer and free tickets and breakfast sounds great!

Thanks,

We were going to do this over the Easter holiday in 1997, but it turned out that it was far less expensive to book the rooms using an American Express card. We ended up renting the points that we would have used to some friends for $5/point and that money more than covered the cost of two rooms at DLP. This was the one and only time that we've rented our points, and since we used the money for a DLP vacation, I guess you could say that we did afterall use points for our trip.

Whether you stay on points or make a cash reservation, standard DLP reservations include tickets and breakfast. I believe you can rent "room only" at DLP, but from I've been able to gather what they call the "Classic Package" is the norm. That is what you are getting when you reserve with points. Tickets and breakfast is not something special provided to those staying on DVC points.

To use DVC points at DLP it does initially look a little pricey, but when you look deeper and see the passes and breakfast is included it isn't a bad deal if you have more than 3 in a room. It's an OK deal for 3 but does look a little pricey IMHO for 2 or less.

I agree some of the rides at DLP are better than their WDW counterparts and it's a good idea to take some warm clothing with you just in case as it's cold in Winter, can get chilly in Spring/ Autumn and you're not guaranteed good weather even in Summer.
