Last week, I got a Gellish mani/pedi at a local salon. I had bought a Groupon deal, so it was a somewhat reasonable $25 instead of the normal $50 cost. It is exactly one week later now, and I just have a few minor chips on my finger nails, and my toe nails are perfect. I usually mess up normal nail polish on my hands within a day, because I use my hands so much. So, I can see that this type of nail polish really is durable!
Does anyone do their own Gellish/Shallac mani/pedi's at home? I saw a Gellish starter kit on Amazon for around $25, and the UV lights to cure the polish are anywhere from $30 to the hundreds. It seems like buying the stuff to do it at home would pay for itself, compared to paying $50 (plus tip) for a salon visit. For anyone that is familiar with this, can you give me any advice on what to buy, tips, etc? Thanks!
