I am going in May with my almost 4 year old and my 9.5mth old........and as far as double strollers all we have is the Joovy Caboose....
It would be fine if my husband was coming with us, but it's only myself and my Mom....and we are thinking it might be too heavy and too large to lug on and off the bus, with a baby, a 4 year old and our bags for the park, atthe airport, getting it and keeping it up the stairs to our room (if we have a top floor at Caribbean Beach.
ANyone use this stroller in Disney? What did you think??? Are my concerns valid??

My other option would be to bring our single umbrella and rent a stroller there, so we only have to juggle with one single, lightweight umbrella...on and off the buses, etc.....

Any insight would be appreciated! THANKS!

Personally, with two of you, that should be fine. You can always request a ground floor room at your resort (fax in a request, and then check with the front desk when you check in to see what floor, see if you can fenagle with them for a ground).

Getting on and off the buses shouldn't be too bad either. Just have a plan in place as your walking to the bus stop...have one of you get the stroller and diaper bag (or whatever bag you'll have with you) and the other the kids. Shouldn't be too hard.

When we went last month with my 15 month old son, there were four of us most of the time. The times it was only two of us, that's what we did; one of us took the stroller and back pack, and the other got my son. Worked beautifully.

Just be sure you've got the stroller collapsed before you start to the door of the bus...it saves time.

I also recommend just taking your double if your youngest will be napping at all...she'll be more comfy in that than an umbrella stroller or the hard park rentals.

As for the airport, that's a breeze. Just board when they announce those with small children needing assistance can board. That's what we did. And again, have your stroller collapes/folded and make sure you have a gate check tag on it. Piece of cake.

Hope this helps!

I was at the world with dd6 & dd2 in December. I purchased a joovy caboose at a second hand store for the trip so if my oldest needed a rest she could sit down a bit. I liked the stroller alot and it was very easy to collapse and carry-or roll behind. Find out where all your elevators are-easier than stairs...The only drawback I had was that the front seat does not recline fully and so my youngest had a harder time napping. Make sure if you do rent you know how much you'll be spending. If you have a once upon a child in you area it might be cheaper to buy another for the trip and sell it back when you come home. I only paid $50 instead of renting a double for $30 a day.
Have a great trip!

Our family went in October, and we used the Joovy Caboose Ultra Light for my 5 year old and 3 year old. It was great, especially for those times when you want to walk fast. The only bad part was the front seat doesn't recline all the way so it was difficult for my little one to take a nap. Make sure you take everything out of the stroller and fold it up before you get to the bus line. The stroller really worked for us.

We used our Joovy Caboose Ultralight last spring with our then 4 year old and 6 month old. It worked well. We were 2 adults so when we got on the bus, one of us would hold the baby and bag and the other one would hold the stroller and hold the DD4's hand. IMO, it really isn't that much bulkier than our single umbrella stroller. We definitely saw a lot bigger, heavier strollers that people were lugging on the buses!!! :) As PPs said above, just make sure you have the stroller folded and you're ready to go before you get on the bus.

We always use the Joovy in airports because we can move a lot faster between terminals without worrying about if our oldest is keeping up...you just check it at the gate and then it is waiting for you when you step off the plane.

As PPs said, I wished the front seat reclined more, but that is really my only complaint with the stroller. We really love it. We're bringing it with us to WDW this spring!

Have fun!!! You'll have a great time whatever you decide!!! :thumbsup2
