Anyone do the tangled lantern photo op?

You get the photo taken and have your magic band scanned. If you do not have a magic band I believe the photographer will provide you a card with a code on the back. You can get one with the first photo you have taken and keep using it the entire trip.
The photos will appear on the Photopass area of your My Disney Experience account
They will have a watermark on them.
For any you want to download there will be a link to purchase. I believe they are $15 each. They may offer packages of several at a discount (example, buy 10 and it's only $100), not certain. Since we have an AP we always get all photos included so I've not checked in to pricing in a while.

This is the first I’ve heard of this and it just made it to the top of my must do list for when DH and I go in September. We have tickets for MNSSHP. Can we still get the picture during the party?

How late do the Photopass photographers stay? I will be there next week for my birthday but I will be coming from Epcot. I want to see Illuminations first and then get to MK hopefully by 10:00PM. They close at 11:00PM. Do the photographers stay until closing?

Yep, they still do it over in the Tangled section. I think they start doing it around sundown, so getting there around 8 is your best bet. A line will form by the wooden fence on the right side heading towards Small World. I think they will continue doing the lantern photos until closing or shortly before. If it rains, they move the photo shoot to the overhang where you would meet Peter Pan during the day.
