Anyone do the new CD lunch at Tusker House?

We have a reservation to try it out in March and I was just interested in what people had to say about it. I know 12/4 was supposed to be the first day so maybe this is a little early.

I'd be interested to know too...we are going in May and I am debating between CD lunch at Tusker House or CD dinner at Garden Grill in Epcot...we have done the GG the past 2 times. We ate at Tusker House last time too but of course it wasn't CD at the time.

Bumping to see if anyone has a report about the Tusker House lunch characters. Same characters as breakfast? Safari Mickey, Goofy, Daisy (and Donald outside)???

I was there the 2nd week of December for the character lunch at 11am. It was GREAT! We had dinner in 2008 and breakfast every trip since in 2009, 2010, Sept. 2011. Lunch in December 2011 was every bit as good.

The food was absolutely delicious. Lot's of interesting flavors and variety but some "plain" food for anyone looking for simple food without spicing/flavor. The carved meats were very good and there was a curried dish I liked too. At 11am, some breakfast food was still out so DS6 was happy to get some Mickey waffles. Service was great. Our server has been at Tusker House several years and I noticed another experienced server we had before.

Characters are exactly the same as breakfast... all in safari costumes with Donald outside posing for photos. People complain about the $30 photos at character meals and dinner shows but we like like them -- you get a photo of the show cast (or characters) that is professional looking plus your photo... and you can add it to your photopass account (we buy the $99 prepaid photo CD). But no problem taking lots of pictures with our camera for free.

Characters inside the restaurant rotate the tables doing the usual greetings, photos, autographs, etc. Kid around with them a bit and they stay longer. I also like a table against the wall with some room around it (the wall makes a better photo background than other diners walking by). And the characters did the same parade with children following with musical instruments -- same parade done at breakfast.

This has always been one of our favorite places to eat... and now even better with characters at lunch too.

We like Tuskers House for lunch and if the food hasn't changed I sure it will get good reviews.

There breakfast is a favorite of many Disers also.

The only downside I can think of.... is for people who liked Tusker House for lunch and don't care about the characters... because with characters, I'm sure the buffet prices were increased... on the dining plan doesn't matter.
