I have seen that it has changed from it's opening but, I have not seen any updates on how the changes affected this tour.

We will be staying at AKL in late September and might move up to concierge for a few days in order to take advantage of the safari (not to mention all of the other peks).

Has anyone done this safari lately?

Thanks,

Last month spent 7 nights at AKL (concierge). The Sunrise Safari (Tuesday morning) was incredible. It was the best part of an incredible week. Going back in Sept.

Welcome to the DIS!!

and thanks for the information. I would love to go and I know my kids would love it.

We went in April and LOVED the AKL concierge and the safari. It was definately a highlight of our trip. Since daylight savings change you meet in the concierge lounge about 7:30 a.m. They take you over by bus and go in the "back" door of the AK. We went with our three children and there were several other young kids on the safari (including an infant) but they were all well behaved. The animals that you see at that hour are wonderful and they really take time to allow everyone to take pictures. Several people "rushed" ahead of everyone to get the back seats of the tram for the safari. I guess they thought these were the "best" seats because they practically ran everyone over to get them. However, the guide rode in the front and we were in the second row which I think was perfect. The pushy ones in the back were really upset because they did not get as good a view as those in the middle/front. (Just a hint)

The breakfast was AWESOME. Way too much food but everything was so good. They even had fried green tomatoes. You will have a blast. Any guestions please let me know.

lookingforward,
How did your kids like concierge? Did you find it worthwhile (not including the safari)? We are discussing changing to concierge.
We just can't decide if we take the difference between savannah view room and concierge and use it for other things in the parks or spend the extra cash on concierge and (ab)use the perks:D

thanks,

I think it is definately worth it if you are around the hotel enough. My kids LOVED the concierge lounge. They always had snacks, sodas, water, juice, etc. and the people working there were very kind. The evening offerings were really substantial and if you had the time and could relax up there for a while it could definately fill you up!
