I am considering doing the Champagne Catamaran Sail and Snorkel to Honeymoon Beach in St. John. Could anyone please provide a description of the events of the day? It seems kind of expensive. Was it worth it?

Thanks for any and all information.

It WOULD have been worth it had we not run into a driving and cold rainstorm and 6 foot swells on the way to St. John. That pretty much made the entire experience miserable; people were getting sick right and left and everyone was drenched (even under the overhang) and shivering.

If the weather is good it would be a great excursion; nice boat and crew and about a 2-hour ride to St. John. You then have about 90 minutes to snorkel before heading back. You can also swim to the beach or they have a small dinghy that will take you in. Lunch is quite good and they have free drinks (terrible champagne, though, it's Andre - yuk!).

I would do this excursion again in a hearbeat if I were guaranteed a sunny day, but life's not like that, I know. :) Hope that helps a little!

Howdy All,

I'm not sure if the same vendor is used on DCL, but my wife and I took the Champaigne Catamaran tour from St. Thomas to Honeymoon Bay on a Carnival cruise (for our honeymoon!) and it was the highlight of our cruise. The vendor was called "Heavenly Days" and it truly was heavenly! We had perfect weather and medium rough seas... maybe 3 or 4 people got seasick. Even though it was a "party" cruise (rum punch at 9:00am as we got on the boat) the sailing was fast and exciting. Honeymoon bay was absolutely gorgeous.. sandy beach and tourquoise water. We chose not to snorkel there (we had snorkeled the previous day at St. Croix) and had the beach to ourselves. Lunch was a nice coldcut/salad buffet that was perfect for the day. If you like to partake in a few (or more) adult beverages, the open bar was great... rum punch (yummy!) mixed drinks, wine, champagne (yeah, not the expensive stuff) and beer were flowing freely.

I would *highly* recommend this excursion!

Cheers...

Gusman
