I have used the search button and it came back with nothing, so I will just ask. We are going to Disney in February 09. My youngest daughter will be 22 months old when we go. Will we be able to do much with her? We have two older daughters who are 11 and 12 also. I know they will have plenty to enjoy, but I would like for us all to be able to enjoy alot as a family.

Not sure if any rides she can be a lap child or not. I am trying to do my research about the rides in each park. It has been 8 years since my last visit and I know alot has changed.

I appreciate any help on what you were able to ride. :)

Many thanks!!!!

That is the best thing about Disney, it really caters to families and has a ton of attractions all ages can enjoy together! We have been taking our kids every year since they were infants. They are 10 and 5 now. The only rides a 22 month old couldn't go on are the obvious ones, like BTMRR, SM, EE, RnR, ToT. Lap infants can go on Haunted Mansion, Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, Small World, Buzz Lightyear, etc... Here is a link to rides with restrictions:

Here is a link to a FAQ for taking toddlers:

Don't forget all the attractions like Mickey's Philharmagic, parades, fireworks. There will be so much for all of you to do!! Let me know if you have any more questions.

Oh my...there is sooooo much you can do. While your oldest ones will want to do a bunch that the toddler can't, you may have to just entertain the little one while they ride the big attractions. With fast pass this will keep the waits to a minimum though. We have taken our little guy on:

Dumbo, Pooh, Snow White, Small World, Peter Pan, the Carousel, the Teacups, Philharmagic, Buzz Lightyear, Blue TT Line, Carousel of Progress, into Toontown for mickey and minnie's houses and the character meets (he goes nuts for those), Spaceship Earth, Living with the land, the 3 Caballeros ride, plenty in AK for toddlers to see (he didn't want to sit through Nemo or the Lion King, but yours might.) He went on Toy Story in HS but didn't want to sit through Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast. He kind of liked the HSM dance party.... and there is also the Playhouse Disney show for toddlers there. They love that. There is so much that your little one can do, you just have to be willing to split up a bit, you obviously won't be able to take the baby on the bigger rides that your older DD's will want to do, but i'm sure you will enjoy the trip despite not being able to spend every waking moment together.

Oh, thank you both sooo much!!!:yay: It looks like we will be able to do alot. My hubby will just be getting back from Afghanistan so we will really enjoy this trip and our time together. When we went in 2000 our then youngest was 2 weeks from turning 3, so I wasn't sure about rides on this trip.

Our DS was about that age on our trip. Our other kids were 4 and 9. He had a great time and was able to enjoy everything except the rides with a height requirement. For those we used FastPass and make sure you get the Rider Switch passes. One of us would either just wait outside with him or go on a ride that was nearby. (For ex. in MK there's a toddler play area near Splash Mtn & BTMRR. And when we did Space Mtn. he enjoyed going on the Buzz Lightyear ride.) We never really split up while in the parks other than for the few minutes while we were waiting to switch off on the "big" rides.

One evening, DH stayed back at the hotel with the little ones (they went swimming, ate, and went to bed early) while my oldest and I went back to MK to have a girls' night out. We had a great time together and got all of the "big" rides in an extra time without the little ones waiting around. Another option would be to keep the older ones in a park while the youngest went back to the hotel for an afternoon nap. (We didn't try this because we actually ALL went back to the hotel and took a nap every day. We got more sleep at Disney than we ever do at home. ;) )

You will have a great time. And the older girls can use the baby as an excuse to enjoy all the "little kid" rides. My oldest thought she was too old for most of the rides in Fantasyland, but she was going to ride them with the little ones. Of course, she absolutely loved them and now realizes they're not just for little kids.

my youngest was 19mo for our trip and is now a small world addict  he could go on so many things and entirely adored the characters (if you go to the weddings board and look at "the happiest days of our lives"- raspberry bubbles wedding report you'll see plenty of photos of him enjoying things... she's my sister and we travelled for her wedding so didn't really get much choice in what age he was!... there will be alot of pics coming up after the wedding day ones as we spent alot of time together)

my other kids were 10, 5 and 4 at time of travel and we managed to keep everyone happy.

Yup, you can do most anything together as a family, except for the few headliners in each park with height restrictions.
We went when our youngest was 16 months and again next week when he is 23 months.

I am in the middle of this report and I love it~!:yay: Your sister has such great photos! I really appreciate you sharing this thread with me. :)
Hope your family enjoyed themselves!!! I am sure you did~!

thanks, she looked amazing and we had a great vacation, she's my only sister and so when she said she was marrying in Disney it moved forward our plans by quite a few years- we'd always planned on taking the kids but more towards when the youngest was 4/5/6 rather than 1/2! But when she announced the wedding we went into saving overdrive because we couldn't let her get married without us. We spent 2 of the 4 weeks she was out there with her (she arrived a week before us and then took a dis-cruise after we left) so there'll be alot of post-wedding trip report to read... we took alot of photos! The 2 flowergirls are my daughters, the oldest ringbearer is my oldest son and the toddler/baby with father of the bride in alot of shots is my youngest but I don't think he was awake for many of the ceremony photos (slept right through until the food! but made it right through to the fireworks at the end of it all!)

I'm here right now with DS (18 months) and also was here in May when DS was 13 months and Dnience was 23 months. Both trips have been great. The toddler play areas are also really fun for the little ones - good times to take a break with the little ones if you split up - in MK there is Pooh's Playful Spot in Fantasyland and in Toontown - there is a playground outside Minnie's House and also Donald's Boat. Just plan to have swim diapers and a change of clothes if the weather is nice, because they can get soaked.

DS also really enjoys Epcot - Spaceship Earth, Mexico, Norway rides, Living with the Land, Nemo and Friends, etc. He naps in the stroller, which would also be a good opportunity for the bigger kids to ride things like Soarin or Test Track.

Have Fun!
