anyone do kayak excursion?

hi, we are thinking about doing the kayaking excursion on st. maarten on 7 day eastern cruise. has anyone done this cruise and could you tell us about it? are they sea kayaks or tandem sit upons? are there places to kayak on st. thomas or st. john? thanks for any help you can offer. barb
