Hello all,

Amy and I do a lot of traveling. From a week long vacation once a year to three or four long weekend jumps.

Looking to share some of the trips I looked into digital scrapbooking. Got a program and looks fairly straight forward. Have a scanner so I can input some of the Disney papers the local craft stores had.

Any suggestions, advice or warnings?

Thanks,
Jim

I wish I had an answer for you... I'm just testing waters in digital because I'm not computer savvy..... (I use CM - storybook creator)...

This is the first one I did using a basic template that came with it. Tweaking it a little for the situation. This is Ghiradelli in the Gas Lamp District in San Diego. Just a first run -

I have another I did with the HM in DL during MNSSHP that I will post when I get home.

That looks great Jim!!!
Love the color choices...

Ok, now you have me motivated to get down and start my scrapping for the day!!!
:thanks:

I do a lot of digital scrapbooking because it's easier to work on when I travel. My bff is a CM Consultant so I am very familiar with Storybook Creator. I have tried other sites and the like and CM is by far the best. there's so much you can do, you're only limited to your imagination.

Jim, your pages look great, look forward to seeing more of your pages!:goodvibes

Thanks.

I use Scrapbook Factory Deluxe. Seemed like a decent one to do a test run with.

Here is a couple more. They are basically plug and play templates. The program allows tweaking but there was much done with these. Mostly dropped in the pics.

Some DL ones from the last trip. Down on Main Street -

Advise and feedback is welcomed and requested. Trust me I have a thick skin.

pictures are great, and so is the paper...IMO I wouldn't have put the Tigger picture on that paper only because it's such a busy design. I probably would have gone with a solid color to make Tigger and Pooh "pop" and then embellished it. the paper I think is better as a border or a frame rather than an entire page...

Thanks for the feedback. Should have know the one I do on my own would be the with issues :rotfl:

I agree. I'll give it a redo :thumbsup2

Jim, if you like the paper, why not try a mat behind the photos (like yellow) especially if you like the way the page looks...

I have that paper at home... I did use it as a border on one traditional page but I have used it as the background and popped the photos with that mat underneath...

AGREED!! I think I have this paper as well and I like the yellow mat behind the picture, it will pick up the characters and the words on the designer paper.

Well got home and tried out some of your recommendations.

Also changed the background on this one. Like but there is something missing -

Jim,
I love the top one!!
Maybe make the photos a bit smaller and then add signatures on tags????

Absolutely...the yellow works and yes, I think if the pictures were smaller it wouldn't look so crowded on your page.
if you were to use the second one, you would have to mat it with black and then add some embellishements...
keep up the good work!

Great job Jim!!

I like the top one with the yellow mat the best too. It makes Amy's pictures pop a little more.

With the orange paper, I would probably do a black mat instead.

The scan of the paper turned out really nice. It didn't seem to lose the crispness of the paper when converted.

There are a frew threads on here about digi scrapping. I use StoryBook Creator Plus from Creative Memories (which is the same as Panstoria Artisan). You can see some of my stuff from the link in my siggy. We used to have a pretty big group of digital scrappers here, but a lot of them have moved over to a dedicated site called Mousescrappers.com. You can go there for tons of inspiration! Or follow me on Pinterest -- I pin Disney digi scrap kits and ideas there all the time! Digital scrapbooking is SO much fun! Jump in!!

Hi Jessica,

It was your scrapbook that made me take a look at the CM Storybook. I'm trying out the free trial now. It looks like they discontinued the Disney backgrounds :sad1: I was wondering what other kits did you use? Also, did you upload the photobook to shutterfly and print from there? Did you have the option to print from the CM site at that time? Just looking for feedback on the quality of a printed CM photobook. TIA!

Hi, Just found this site. Will head to some of your Pinterest sites soon too.
I'm a 95% traditional scrapbooker but have done some digital. I like CTMH Studio J for very very easy scrapbooking. They have some Disneylike paper kits you can use. I have and love the results. It's all online so you don't have to have a cd or program installed. You don't have to store anything on your computer actually. (I have the CM too and never got the hang of it and only used it once, maybe it's easier now though) CTMH kits actually match their actual paper kits so if you want you can hybrid scrapbook too. My favorite part, not a huge learning curve!
