Anyone do a walk-up horse carriage ride?

I don't know how quickly reservations for the horse carriage rides go. Is it possible to walk up and get a ride? Has anyone ever done that? I am interested in one at Fort Wilderness.

I called & made ressies for ours at FW 2 years ago, but I would think it would depend on the time of year (value vs. peak season) and how crowded it is.
