If you stayed in a CAT 12 on deck 2 (inside stateroom), can you tell me how was the noise, location and motion of the ship for you?

THANKS! ;)

Or if you just stayed on Deck 2, how was the motion and location?

I am trying to find out if it is worth the extra money to do a cat. 11 vs. a cat. 12. Right now we are in the process of booking a room on Deck 7.

You won't many folks that sail in a Category 12, as those few cabins are DIRECTLY under the adult nightclub area and it can be very loud with the band and DJ overhead. It's usually only about $100 more to go with a Category 11 in a much more desirable location. :)

I agree with Michelle!!
We've never done a Cat. 12, but we've been in a 9 in the nightclub area and definitely hear the bass late into the night. The Cat. 11s are in great locations on the upper decks...well worth the extra $$. We used to freuqently do Cat. 11s on 7 or 6 until we learned about the secret portholes rooms and my favorite verandah room, 5650.

Hi,

We're using our Disney points for our July 6 Western Caribbean cruise. We could only get a cat 9 as the rest were sold out. We are in stateroom 2058. Will we here alot from the clubs? Would it do us any good to see if we could upgrade on a cancellation.

Hi,

I have been on Deck 2 twice, once in the front of the ship and once in the back (both rooms w/ a porthole). rooms 2504 and 2150! I never heard any noises except in the front of the boat in the morning you could hear them docking as they were releasing the dock tie up ropes and pulling them taught. But, we didn't mind we just used it as a wake up call and never missed us pulling into a port. And at the back of the boat in 2150, it was real noisy again in the mornings when they would turn around or use the engines to dock. As far as the motion of the ship, I don't think it really matters where you are as I have also been on deck 8 w/ a verandah and it all depends on the ocean at the time your sailing. I didn't see any difference from one deck to another as far as ship motion. But then again, everytime I sell it's a different part of the year and the waves are different each time. January was the smoothest sailing we have ever had with the sea only at a light chop. Personally, as long as I have a porthole...I don't care where I am on the ship.

Just my opinion...Mmketeer Sailing again sometime this fall.

We had a Cat. 9, deck 2 right under the nightclub and it didn't bother us at all. Deck 2 is my favorite.

On our last cruise we stayed in Room 2136 (cat. 9, porthole) towards the back of the ship and only heard some noise when the ship was docking. I've been on Deck 6 two previous times, so I was worried about being on Deck 2. I actually liked being closer to the water (looking out the porthole). Although I would prefer to have a veranda (someday), Deck 2 worked out well.

We stayed in CAT 12 cabin 2015... very quiet.. no noise from the clubs at all.

There are a very limited amount of cat 12's available.. and they seem to book up quickly.

Slept like a baby in the room... was pretty impressed with the layout... definately not a suite, but not a cracker box either.

good luck planning!

deannalew,
5650 is my favorite because I LOVE being aft and as close to the water as possible. Deck 5 is as close as you can get to the water with a verandah stateroom, and 5650 is as far aft as you can get. There is hardly any hallway traffic back there, so it is very peaceful. About the only noise youget is some engine noise, and I find that soothing (I sleep with a white noise machine anyway, so it's the same type thing). 5650 has a solid metal verandah, but I personally like those, and the verandah is a little larger due to the curve of the ship. We're celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary this weekend in my favorite stateroom...can't wait!

I agree about noise. We were in 2500 the very front of the ship, only heard noise when the boat docked on port days but that was our "other" wakeup call. The kids were right up looking out the porthole to see where we were. The only night we did hear noise was the night they premiered Atlantis and that was only a very short time. I would do that deck again. The only trouble with motion was the 2nd night felt a little quese but that was on the whole ship. You felt it everywhere on only on deck 2. The next time we go I will do the same or if I get a really good deal on a verandah I will go for that.:bounce:

We were booked for a cat 12 inside stateroom and just upgraded to cat 11 Deck 6 . I've been reading on the boards how loud Deck 2 is and it was only $200 more dollars. I feel better knowing everyone will sleep better.!!!!!

We have stayed in a Cat 10 aft and a Cat 12 forward. I thought the Cat 12 was much quieter, no engine hum. No problems with nightclub noise at all.
There are only a few Cat 12's and they sleep a max of 3. They are perfect for a couple or a couple and small child.

we have a catagory 11 on deck 7.. it's right in the middle of the ship. This is the Wonder new years cruise and I think that she said that it was all that was available at the time. I am happy just to be going on our first cruise! Anyone have any info on this catagory and deck? It's just hubby and I for our 20th anniversary.

Nancy

Barb, that's my favorite area of the ship for a cabin too. Room 5130 is "my room". As you say, not much hallway traffic. Not too high above the water. And not too far from any location onboard.
