Anyone considering Flair Air for a Disney trip?

...or for any trip?

I've just noticed that they're an option for flying direct to disney from a couple of cities. For us, the cost would add up (we don't travel light, and especially not to Disney. Checked bags would be a must), but it's one of very few direct options so I'm thinking it might be worth it?

Any thoughts on the airline much appreciated! I only know the basics (low cost fares, add-on fees for basically everything), and I'd love to hear opinions from anyone who has flown with them or, based on research, avoided them.

Very poor reviews ..
I’m a very safety minded traveller and wouldn’t consider them.
Just me.

I looked at Flair once but didn't like what I was seeing. I have already booked a flight to Orlando on Swoop though. They are a subsidiary of WestJet so it made me feel better about them.

My wife and I flew Flair to the Bahamas and we were not impressed. Plane was late because of mechanical issues and when we landed one of the wheels didn't come down right so caused a rough landing. I would guess this was the issue that made it late in the first place and wasn't fixed right. Our flight back was also late by hours. Seemed like a budget airline that cut too many corners. Would not use them again.

Please give a report when you get back. I'd love to hear how it went.

I definitely will. It isn't until November though so if anybody uses Swoop first hopefully we hear from them as well.

NOOO noo no DON"T DO IT!!! I don't think if they paid me to fly i would go with them .. our daughter & her wife flew to Halifax from Hamilton at the beginning of August because they got a great deal. Flight out was fine but coming home was a DISASTER! They ended up being stuck in the Halifax airport for almost 12 hours with next to no communication from the airline and when they did finally get to board the plane it wasn't one of the 7 planes Flair own (yes, they have SEVEN planes in their fleet), it was dirty, cramped and noisy. The girls were split up which didn't bother them but the family with the infant and toddler weren't happy that the seats they paid extra for didn't even exist in the new plane. When someone tried calling customer service (before they shut down for the night) they were told it would cost $10 because they hadn't paid for that privilege ahead of time?!?! They gave people the option of finding their own way home, getting a voucher for another flight or taking the next available flight that was 2 days later! When we finally went to pick them up at 4:30 in the morning someone asked us if we were waiting for the Halifax flight as well and he told us that it is late more than it isn't.

Not the way you'd want to start or end a trip ANYWHERE!

Oof, thank you all for the feedback! I guess the old adage is right: if it seems too good to be true, it probably is! Way better to find this out now, rather than during a vacation.

The prices are just so darn good. The cost of flights is just so darn high, so it would be great to see an airline with low prices for no-frills flights. But not at the cost of safety and reliability!

Swoop sounds like it will be a good option for some. They don't fly to Orlando from my city, unfortunately, but hopefully things go well with them and they expand their offers.
