They have 2 zone Mitsubishi mini split system. They work great and are very reliable. One thermostat in bedroom and second thermostat is in kitchen area. Not sure what AC system they're using in the cabins, but if it's the same as the newer Honeywell control panels used in many other DVC (like Saratoga Springs), there IS an override key sequence you can hit that will allow you to set the temp down to 65. You may have to repeat it each day, but it works well for me.
Of course, if yours is till at 79 even when set to 68, there may be an actual problem with the unit. If you hear it pumping and it's blowing air, but the air is room temperature, there may be a coolant issue - if it's not even blowing air at all, could be something else (overflow sensor in the pan, broken sender, dead fan, etc.
$30 per day … 2 dog maxHas anyone taken a dog yet? Did they charge $30 per day or $50 per day?
Payment system is in place but ignore and push start … no chargeLaundry question - I have not seen any reports since the DVC cabins opened, but is laundry free at the comfort stations? I think it used to cost per load....hoping they get rid of that given this is now a DVC resort.
Call maintenance….. our cabin held thermostat set point with no problem during heat of the day. It should easily cool the cabin and cycle on/off.Final update on the a/c —— We had both thermostats set to 70. Bedroom cooled overnight to 72. (Super) The living area never got below 75. If temperature is important to you, I would definitely look into this. I think with 95 degree heat, even with every shade closed this cabin cannot keep up.
I agree - you definitely need to call Maintenance.Final update on the a/c —— We had both thermostats set to 70. Bedroom cooled overnight to 72. (Super) The living area never got below 75. It's walkable, but it's a bit of a distance. From 2300, you're walking around the entire cabins loop back to the main road, then turning right and going another few hundred feet. You're probably around 2/3 of a mile. If you were in 2800 loop, you'd be much closer - around 1/4 mile. The entire cabin loop road is just about 1/2 mile from one end to the other.
Please call maintenance. We stayed in a cabin a few weeks ago and had no issues with the temperature.Final update on the a/c —— We had both thermostats set to 70. Bedroom cooled overnight to 72. The K-Duo is what's shown in all of the walk-through videos I've seen. Can any one confirm that the coffeemaker is a combo Keurig/drip? I would be nice to not have to travel with ours.
