Anyone calling today for a Christmas Reservation?

Congrats to all who got "Christmas presents" this morning!

I called right at 9:00 and got an AKV Value studio for 12/19-12/25! :cool1:

Just what we wanted, low points for a place to sleep after enjoying the decorations all around WDW. Love Christmas at the parks! :thumbsup2

I completely spaced this morning and was driving in to work at 9 ET (7 MT). I've been calling since 930 ET (730 MT) and it was busy for almost an hour! Just finally rang, and now we'll see
Keeping our fingers crossed for you!!!:)

LVSWL I think only the GV in Jambo House have the pool tables. Not sure though. I asked for Kidani Village hoping it would be warm enough for our Grandchildren to enjoy the water area. DH and I are going down a couple of days early so we can do what we want to in the parks and then we can take care of any or all of our DGC if their parents want to go to the parks without them. Or we can take them to the parks and let their parents go to another park. It will be grand either way. We are all so excited! Been planning this since Christmas 2007. Banking and borrowing AKV points so we could have enough for the GV. It will all be worth it when we are all together in one unit.
Well it sounds absolutely wonderful!!! I have not stayed at AKV yet, only in the lodge, so all of the different areas are like greek to me :goodvibes, but just the idea of having all of your family together will be wonderful. Hopefully there will be a DVC tree list this year :)

Got what I needed, thanks!!! Now we'll see what I can get my in-laws at 7 months out...see you all again in May LOL.

Just booked our first trip to Disney for Christmas!!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :goodvibes :joker:

We will be staying at our home resort, SSR from Dec 19th - Dec 24th. This is something my wife and I have wanted for a very long time.. we will try to keep it a secret from our kids and surprise them the day we leave!!!!

Were you there over the same days this year? We have been earlier in the month, but never over Christmas. I have read a lot about the crowds, but the boys and DH wanted to go back for the decorations again.

Yes, we were there this Christmas from December 20th thru 26th. We donated a tree for the tree exchange and had a tree for the room. We had a lovely drive from the Houston area and really loved the trip-that's why we wanted to do it again.:)
The crowds weren't too bad for us. We had wonderful weather and really enjoyed ourselves.
The weather was perfect except one night. It was really cold on a night we went to Epcot-we pop in a lot because of how close it is to the Boardwalk. That night the weather hampered the Christmas Processional so bad they were 'begging' people to sit in the seats-we hadn't planned on going but heck, no wait and great seats the music and story were wonderful. We didn't make it through the whole show because of the wind and cold.

We left the parks early each day and enjoyed other parts of the resort. We collected our FP's during the day and went back if we wanted to ride some rides later in the evening when we went for Fireworks or shows. We even gave a lot of the FP's away when we knew we weren't going to use them.

We really enjoyed the decorations and the Osburne(sp) Lights and never waited in a line longer than 20 minutes in any park(this included Toy Story Mania).

We had a wonderful time except for the Wishes Fireworks on Christmas Eve. Really :crowded:(crowded) and some of the people we dealt with were :crowded:(ya' know what I mean :rotfl2:)

It was basically rude people stepping on or in front of little kids to get a good view:rolleyes:
We got to the Rose garden early were standing with DD up against a railing and a man shoved and stepped right in front of my DD so he could 'see better' and get good pictures. DD just got a camera for Christmas and wanted to take pictures too. He knew he shoved her out of the way and that we saw him.
I asked him to move since she had been there for an hour waiting for that specific spot and just because he was older (and bigger than an 11 year old) he had no right to behave that way(he wasn't older or bigger than DD's mom(or GM)-mistake for him:rotfl: ).
He wasn't too happy with me:confused3 go figure but he moved when my DM stepped up with me. We will just make sure and go on a different night and maybe have a GG next time.
Really, It was just a blip on our vacation-we don't let others spoil our trip it just proved to DD that you have to speak up sometimes.:thumbsup2
I hope we and you have just as good a time as we had last year. Hey, maybe we should arrange a GG:confused3 it might be fun.
Pack you patience and you will have a great time too!:thumbsup2

Congrats!!!! You will love it!!!! Good luck on keeping it secret- I could never do that, DH 'has to know' Heck, I made a ticker less than 5 minutes after I got the reservation:rotfl:

Bopsmom thanks so much for all the info! We used to go the first two weeks of December when the kids were younger and so this time of year is a little bit scary for us. Hearing about your trip really helps me feel even better about our decision. We are pretty savvy WDW travelers, we go several times per year, but up until this year we always traveled in off season. Now we are going the week before Easter, June and now over Christmas!! We will have to keep in touch and see if our plans overlap. I am so excited to finally get a chance to see the Osbourne Lights and the Candlelight Processional again.
Good for you and your DM! I agree, we don't like to let others spoil our disney fun, but sometimes you really do have to speak up.:)

We went to the CP Christmas 07 when we made our first Christmas Trip to Disney. We absolutely loved it and it just made our Christmas! John Almos (SP) was the narrator and he was very good. Hope to make that a tradition and do it again this time. All DGC will be older and will probably enjoy it even more. I want to make a ticker for our trip, but I don't remember how. :confused3 Maybe someone can post that for me.:flower3:

I'm in the Houston area too! :) Good to know there are other Houstonians here. :thumbsup2

So far I have not been willing to drive to WDW. But flying has not been much fun either lately, so I would be interested in how good/bad the drive is.

We're going in March for Spring Break. Staying at SSR. We're hoping to go back Christmas 2009, but so far I have unable to get through to MS. Not givng up yet, though....;)

I called today and got a 1 bedroom standard at AKV from 12/19-12/27. Our first trip at Christmas (Ssshh, we're not telling the kids yet). If all goes as planned it will be our 3rd trip of 2009 :cheer2: . #1: We're going to AKV 3/20-3/28. #2: SSR 7/10-7/17--thanks to developer points from buying BLT. (SSSShh, the kids don't know about this one either!;) ) #3: Christmas. This will be our first time buying annual passes and figured we'd get good use out of them! :thumbsup2 Hope we're not on WDW overload by the end of the year. If that is even possible!!!

I just booked the exact same dates and resort! My daughter is so excited!!

Congratulations to you all! I am so excited for you. This year we won't be enjoying the Christmas decortions as we are going at Halloween, but ahh, you are gonna love it!:thumbsup2

We drove for the holidays. It really wasn't too bad. There was an 18wheeler accident in Beaumont that stopped traffic for an hour-figures in Beaumont though:rotfl2: There was a slight hitch when we got into Louisianna that held us up for about 20 minutes. We drove to Pensacola the first day and made good time. We woke up early and drove on to WDW.

Driving back we stayed late at the parks, then drove to Tallahasse for the night. We then drove to New Orleans and stayed a few days there before coming home the day before New Year's Eve.

We just got a new Prius in October and wanted to test it out. (:worship: for that Navigation system:love: it ) There were 4 in the car-loaded down and doing the speed limit (except in Beaumont:) ) and it only used 40-45 gallons for the whole trip. DH drove the whole way-I had a back spasm and just got over it the day we pulled into WDW but I think he really enjoyed driving it all by himself. We will be driving again in June and maybe he will let me drive.

It was nice not to be held up at the airports-so many people were caught in the awful snowstorms that week and couldn't make their flights. The areas have really grown up along the the way since I used to have to drive to SC to visit family. As always make sure you go to the RR before you get to the Atchafalaya Swamp Freeway just in case there is traffic issues:thumbsup2

Looking forward to seeing you all next Christmas!

We have booked for 3 weeks - so excited! Arrive Dec 4th and Leave Dec 25th.

I don't make my call until Tuesday (12/27-1/1), and I'm very, very nervous about the call. I'm looking to book an in-demand room type (1BR BWview), and I hope I get it. It sounds like people are having success with this, so I'm trying to stay optimistic!

I am one of the disappointed:sad: caller. I phoned yesterday morning bright and early (from the ski hill) and wasn't able to get what we wanted which was a BWV standard studio for 20-27th. First few days weren't available. Short on points to move up to a Boardwalk view so had to settle with our 2nd choice which is SSR. I loved Xmas this past year at BWV and hoped to be there again. Oh well at least now we don't have to move (what DH prefers) on the 27th to SSR, we will already be there. Good Luck Everyone!

Just wanting to wish some pixiedust:pixiedust: to everyone as they call for their ressies. I know that it is hard to wait and hard not to get your first choice. Good luck everyone!!:)
