Anyone call Epcot attractions by thier sponsers name?

My wife family calls (or used to call) the Epcot rides/attractions by their sponser's names.
Does anyone else do that?

The first time I went they were my guide.
For example: When we separated and we were told to meet them at Exxon at 3:00.
Or Kraft at 5:00
My wife understood but I came back from my first time at Epcot thinking that Disney had the worst maps in the world because nothing was ever labeled "right".

no. never even considered it. not trying to be short or rude. just never herard of it before.

No because the actual names of the rides are without the sponsors names. It's not the HP Mission Space. It's Mission Space, Sponsored by HP. So really the sponsor has NOTHING to do with the name and if it were not for the rediculous money they pay to sponsor attractions, they'd have nothing to do with the name, even though some attractions wouldn't exist without sponsors.

Never thought to do that. I don't even know the sponsors of half the rides. Spaceship Earth used to be sponsored by AT&T. If you called it by that you would have a hard time finding it since they don't sponsor it anymore.

Same with GE. They used to sponsor illuminations. Which if you think about it,
GE brings good things to light; ergo illuminations? Anyway, they bought Universal and the rest is history. Now the $40,000+ price tag each night is not sponsored, at least not publically. (BTW the $40,000 figure came from a GE employee we know who was close to the Disney relationship way back when).

No, because the sponsers may change numerous times, for example Kraft used to sponser The Land, and now Nestle does, FedEx used to sponser Space Mountain, etc, etc.

I really didn't think that anyone else would do so.
They don't do it anymore either.
Maybe because they were there when it opened and Disney was pushing the sponsers name a lot more than they do now?
I wasn't there so I don't know.

I just thought it was funny.

We never really did that, but what we did do is say "Because GE brings good things to life, Illuminations Reflections on Earth will begin in 5 minutes"

Okay.. so maybe we are just big dorks and thought it was funnier than it actually was! But we were amused.

Well, then I'm a big dork too, whenever we see Illuminations, I do the GE spiel too!

No I haven't ever reffered to an attraction by their sponser's name. It really never occured to me. I must say, that's one of the strangest things I've hear.
