I purchased a package through a Travel agent and was not allowed to add insurance....but she said I could purchase it independently. I've always added it with my MYW package and felt security in it with children...anyone have recomendations?

Try www.insuremytrip.com. There are several companies and coverages from which to choose. Make sure you read the policies and what is and is not covered. Sadly, people make assumptions about what is covered and then can be very disappointed when their assumptions do not match the language of the policy. I typically purchase travel insurance when traveling outside of the US or if the trip is very expensive, not always though.

We always buy it, after the fact, thru AAA, when we go pick up our travel documents. It's quite a bit cheaper thru AAA, then it is direct from Disney!

Thankfully, we've never had to use it, so can't comment on that...but, would rather save some money on it with AAA, and use the savings for fun stuff at the World!

We've used travelguard over the years. Never had to make a claim, but policies are fair and inexpensive.

I also use travelguard. I travel internationally quite a bit and they offer a lot of different types of insurance policies.

I second insuremytrip.com we have used that service twice now - once b/c we were too late to add the insurance through disney (got the exact same plan disney offers for less) and most recently b/c we traveled with my parents and needed a policy that would cover cancellation as a result of pre-existing condition in non-traveling family member. I called and spoke to an agent and she procured the appropriate policies for our group. i highly recommend insuremytrip (and i think i originally was referred there by the disboards)
