The Tinkerbell just clips to the side of the glass. They still have them.
My DD clipped one on her school backpack a few years ago. It only flashed a few days. (Although I don't really know if she was turning it off much).
Thank you. That was from Mother's Day. It was a Mint Julep from Blue Bayou. They have the Louisiana Lemonade now, too. They will put a glow cube in anything there (for an extra fee... I think it was $3)
I don't think they need to be stored in the freezer. Mine work fine and I keep them in a drawer. Do they even get cold in the freezer? I think they're decorative, not function, as on, they don't really chill your drink. I put shot glasses on mine at parties. Parties with adult beverages.

I honestly have never thought about it. We just keep them with our other decorative ice cubes (that do freeze), but now that I think about it there really isn't a reason to keep them there. I'm not going to move them though. We have gotten a ton of use out of them. Most are 2 to 4 years old. A few we got within the last year. I really didn't expect them to last this long. We have over 30 of them and I have only had 2 go bad.
I have a small collection that are years old and work just fine. When we have parties with our friends we put the glow cubes in the "buckets" that have ice and hold beer and wine. They really light up the ice/water and it looks really neat.
