I need to buy a new one this week. I want a sidekick and am looking at the 3180, 3270, 3670, and 3700. I'm leaning toward the latter two because they come in gray. The 3770 is $100 more and can get this week (have been without a washer for several weeks) and has an option for a faster cycle but the 3670 seems to have better reviews. Anyone have any recent experience with lg front loaders?

We've had ours for 4 years. So far so good. Only issue we had was with the dryer. It has a sensor that detects if the vent is blocked and we discovered, after having our vent cleaned, that if there are any bends in tubing that are too extreme, it creates enough resistance in the air flow that the sensor thinks the vent is blocked when it is not.

I don't remember which model we bought (I'm out of town right now) but I had to have the one that had the small access door on the front to clear out the drain area. I had to take the front off the old one to clear it out and because I have teens that sometimes leave stuff in their pockets, I like having that easily accessible. There are often bobby pins and the occasional coin in there.

We bought our 2nd LG front loading set in February. We moved out of state and sold our last set with our house. The last set we bought was the top of the line, Consumer Reports highest rated LG set at the time. This go round we opted for a more modest, less expensive set since we rarely used many of the functions/settings on our old set. We have the 3270 washer with a 3170 electric dryer in white.

Our previous set before these two LG sets were top of the line Whirlpools that I insisted on getting in the gray color. Nowadays I can think of all the things I could do with the extra funds instead of paying extra just for the appliance color! Or for features I would rarely or never use. But that's just me... afterall, this is the BUDGET board!

I don't think I'd ever go back to a Whirlpool set. Oh, and this new LG washer had a rubbery smell for about a month and then it disappeared. I ran several wash cycles using Affresh washer cleaner in it. Not sure if that is what fixed the odor, but I no longer have problems with it.

Note: My LG 3270 has a speed wash cycle too.

One word of caution... we got ours from Home Depot and had planned to stack them but when they came to deliver it, the staking kit was the wrong one. The stacking kit model was correct on the box but they didn't have the proper holes or something on the washer itself. The delivery guys said they had been having issues with this for a while and then I read online how others had experienced the same. Sounded like it was an issue with LG, not Home Depot.

HTH!

Very helpful, thanks! My lg dryer is gray which is why I thought I wanted gray but it's a lighter shade. My laundry room is not fancy and is tucked away upstairs so it really doesn't matter.

The 3270 seems to get great reviews--no steam but I had steam and allergeine and rarely used it. With the sidekick the 3270 is only $800 which isn't bad since this was an unexpected expense.
