We need 1 nt. hotel before we check into our timeshare in Nov. I recall a while back someone from UK mentioning www.alpharooms.com and I found a great deal on their website. Sheraton Safari Hotel for only $78 incl. all taxes.
I'm ready to book but just wondering if anyone else has booked thru them and how was your experience? I'll be bringing my parents and db & sil (1st timers) so I'd be really upset to get there and be told we have no ressies!
:headache:
Any opinions? I also posted this on the Orlando Hotels sections but didn't get any responses. I thought/hoped the website would be a little more well known here. :goodvibes
TIA & Happy Easter!

Hi

We have used alpharooms for the first time this year. I have booked 2 nights at Cypress Pointe through them.
After booking I gave it a couple of weeks and rang CP direct and my booking is there. So I am happy.
Hope this helps

Happy Easter :)

Hi
See this thread I replied to about Alpharooms, I have since recommended them to 2 or 3 US Dis members who have used them no problem.
We fly today and booked our hotel thru Hotelopia another site that gets some good rates, 3.5%cashback with rpoints and if you Google Hotelopia discount there are 10% discount codes out there also.
You should have no problems with Alpharooms.

Don't know why the search facility does not return more threads on Alpharooms, I have replied to a few more threads about them.

Thank you! I knew I could count on you!! :goodvibes
Well, I may as well ask my question here and will probably get an answer faster than my email to alpharooms. :lmao:
Here is a copy of the email I sent to them:

Hi,
I live in the US and your website was recommended to me on www.disboards.com, a message board about Disney World. I'm not familiar with the terminology your website uses to describe the bed size/arragemnent in the hotels. I've read, and even printed out, your descriptions in the FAQ section but want to make sure I'm booking the right type of room.

I'm looking to book 3 rooms at the Sheraton Safari Hotel. Sheraton's website describes their standard rooms as either 1 King-size bed or 2 Queen-size beds.(Surely, we can't be getting a suite at that price!)

Alpharooms.com gives me a choice of either a Double Room or a Twin Room. As per your description, a twin room has 2 single beds. Do you mean 2 twin size mattresses? I've never seen this in an American hotel. Your description of a Double Room is a room with 1 double bed. I've never seen this either.

Can you specifically explain which type of bed I would get for either choice. Besides my own family I'll be travelling with my parents, brother, and sister-in-law and would be really upset if we get the wrong type of room due to a simple miscommunication. As coordinator of this trip I would feel like a complete fool.

Thank you for assistance in sparing me some embarrasment in Florida. :)

Could I just call the Sheraton after booking and request 2 queens vs. 1 king. I'm sure my parents and db/sil would love the king beds but we have 2 children and need 2 queens. Both rooms types are the same price on both websites. I hate to obsess over simple things but that's what we Disers to best! :rotfl2:
Sorry if I seem so dense!
Again, thank you so much!!!

ruadisneyfan2 I get the impression alpharooms descriptions are for a standard European room where we do get alot of single beds ie 3' and for one person and each room has 2, ofen pushed together to make a larger bed. Just for info this is a twin bed apartment we got in Europe just to give you an idea of what the set up often is over here.

As the rooms are in the US I am guessing the twin room would be two double/queen beds and the double would be a king, but it would be useful for them to clarify.

Thanks Claire,
I did get a fast reply from Alpharooms and this is what they told me too. They are checking with their supplier just to make sure and will get back to me. Will be a few days due to holiday.
Thanks for your help!

I just wanted to let all of you know what a great experience I've had with Alpharooms so far. Dawn has been so nice and even offered to waive the fee they normally charge for using a cc by phone. She called me during my lunch break at work and stayed on the line until everything was processed. (She probably just wanted her commission but I think she sure deserved it after answering 50 questions from me!)
I will wait a few weeks before I call the Sheraton.
I'm so glad I found them! Thank you all! :goodvibes

Thats great news thanks for letting us know :)

Claire ;)
