I booked Dolphin a month ago thru http://www.starwoodhotels.com/. Upon completion of my reservation, I realized that they've charged one night deposit on my credit card on file. I've read that I can cancel anytime before Mar 2, 2008 without any penalty.
Today I called Starwoods Hotels and asked about if I can change from Dolphin to Swan. The staff said that I have to cancel my current reservation and then make a new booking for Swan.
I just canceled my bookings via starwoodshotel.com. The page displays a cancellation number but had no information about refund of my deposit.
Does anyone ever cancel a hotel reservation via Internet? Do they credit back to your credit card seamlessly?
