Anyone book a disney vacation through swavacations.com?

I just found the swavacations.com site and found that I could book a 7 night Disney vacation including air, hotel(Downtown Disney), rental car, and park hopper passes for approx $2000 for a family of 4. I already have a deposit on a land/sea vacation that is going to cost approx $4000 and that is not including air. I really don't want to lose the cruise part of the vacation but that is a big difference in price!! Any suggestions? What would you do?

I recently booked a southwest vacation as well. I took off the passes for mine, but it still came out to be a really good deal considering airline tickets just were not coming down. I paid $1594 for 2 adults and 2 children flying down from Nashville staying 7 nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Even with the current resort discounts, this came out cheaper to stay the 7th night. I guess your dilema is deciding which you would rather do and how much you want to spend to do it. So far so good with Southwest vacations. The total charge is made to your credit card up front, so you may also want to take that into consideration. Good Luck!

What would it cost you to book airfare alone? I assume for calculation that you could fly southwest with the friend flies free deal; thus, a family of four would need only two tickets. Not knowing your particulars, I made a lot of assumptions, so this post may be worthless; however, its saturday morning and I have time, so....

7 days at a 4 star DTD Resort on Priceline @ $65.00/night-- $595.00

2 adult 4 day parkhopper plus from connections @ 190/each-- $380.00

2 child 4 day parkhopper plus from connections @ $158/each-- $316.00

Since I don't know how much you would spend to rent a car, I stop here--

Total for hotel, and tickets for 7 days-- $1291.00

Now, the question is could you utilize Southwest's friends fly free promo to get your tickets. If so, the question to ask is could you buy two tickets and rent a car for a week for under $700.00. HTH

There is a few problems with the above assumption. 1. That yor priceline rate will come in at the rate suggested. 2. That your priceline hotel will be a Downtown Disney hotel. For example in the resort rate I have gotten the Marriott World Center several times on Priceline. It is a great hotel, but it is not in DTD. Plus you have to deal with Connections and a lot of people don't want to do that.

did you read in my post where I stated that I was making some big leaps based on the fact that i was assuming things? Also, I don't believe the Marriott world center is a 4 star. I am under the impression that, at present, the only 4 stars in the Disney area are the Hilton, Wyndham, Swan and Dolphin. I have always gotten the Hilton or Wyndham for the price quoted above, and if the OP wants more assurance, she can check the hotwire thread on the resorts page. HTH

A friend of mine recently took a Disney cruise with his family (2 adults, 2 kids) and he opted for the cruise over a land vacation at WDW thinking he would save some $$ because meals are included with the cruise and considering that they always stay onsite and the cost of theme park passes. He and his family ended up running up a drink tab (alcoholic drinks and soda pop) and offshore excursion tab of about $1200 so the cruise, airfare and extras cost about $5500. Looking at the numbers alone, I'd opt for the land vacation. Just my two cents!

Actually I don't think Prlcieline has any 4 stars left in the Lake Buena Vista area. They have upgraded everything to resort. Marriott, Wyndham, Swan, Dophin and Hilton are all coming up at Resort.
