Anyone been to Virginia Beach?

I'm planning on heading to Virginia Beach at the end of August. Does anyone have any suggestions for a family of 5? I'm thinking a cottage or condo.

Hello,

We have been here for the last five days and we have been staying at the Marriott Residence Inn on the beach. The place is amazing and worth the $309 we paid per night. It includes a hot breakfast.

We went to VB last year, and we had a very nice time !!!

We are also a family of 5 and this was perfect! The kids loved that we could sit on the balcony and look at the ocean at night and every minutes!!!

We had been to the Outer Banks for a week and decided to spend our last night at VB before we flew out of Norfolk for home last October. I haven't decided yet whether we were extremely fortunate or not to coincide with the Neptune festival. There was a lot going on but with no advance reservations, we had little choice for a hotel room. Luckily we found a vacancy oceanfront but it was an older hotel at an obscene price. That being said, I'd really like to go back one day.

We went to VB last year for a week to celebrate our Anniversary and we also stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn on the beach. I agree, it was fabulous! Great location, lots of room, all rooms face the ocean, and the breakfasts were excellent! My DH came home and bought himself a flippy waffle maker because he liked the one there so much.
