I was there last Spring for the first time. I thought it was a terrific place, very relaxing.
The beach is wonderful. In the late Spring and parts of the Summer you can take guided tours to watch sea turtles nesting on the shores. Vero is a major turtle nesting location.
One day I went kayaking through parts of the waterway nearby. There's tons of wildlife to observe including Dolphins, Gators and birds of all kinds. One pod of Dolphins swam right by our boats.
I also visited a botanical garden not far from the Resort I was staying at. It's a self guided tour through a lovely garden with many species of plants and trees.
Another night I went to Dodgertown, the Spring Training facility for the LA Dodgers
AAA ball club. I watched a game between the Vero Dodgers and the Tampa Yankees. Tickets were $4 and you could buy hot dogs, a small beer or a soda for $1 each! It was great.
I also ventured off to visit the Manatee Center, an orange grove and much more. There are lots of great restaurants too, one being the Ocean Grill which is right on the beach.
Check the DVC Board for more information also since one DVC Resort is in Vero (where I stayed).
