Anyone been to Shutters?? Any good?

I have not been there, but you could probably check your local library or bookstore for The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World by Bob Sehlinger. A new revision is published annually, and includes updated, independent reviews of all of the restaurants.

Shutters? At Vero Beach?

Its really the only restaurant at the resort besides the Pool Grill. We ate there a lot during our stay. Breakfast/Dinner. I thought it was nice. The menu wasn't expansive but what they had was very good. We had a stone crab special, and the iceburg wedge was good.

I don't remember the sandcastle icecream. They had a make your own sundae with the different cups for toppings. DD Loved that.

Editing to add, there is a vero beach adoration thread on the DVC Mousecellanous board. There's a lot of info about Vero and surrounding restaurants. (Not that Shutters was bad, but if you are there for a while..you might want to venture out.

We went to the shutters at CBR and it was surprisingly delicious! That was 2 years ago and I think the menu is different now. We all got the filet and it was amazing! Don't know anything about the sandcastle though...

I was there in 04 and wasn't impressed. I had prime rib and it was not very good at all.

But take that with a grain of salt because there were reasons outside of the food that may have clouded my judgment on this restaurant. Those reasons involve an 8 hour car ride, a toddler that had been cooped up in her carseat all day, and my ex-husband who insisted on eating there in spite of my protests that the food court would be a much better option for our restless daughter.

I ate at Shutters 2x, and both times it was awful.Will not go back.The most recent...food was mediocre, cold when brought to the table, and the waiter was rude and often difficult to locate.

We have recently returned from CBR and what a fabulous holiday we had, the best ever! We went to Shutters one evening for dinner as we had all our other evenings planned, we had a lovely meal no complaints, food was delicious, service fast and very friendly,can't answer the question about kids dessert option my kids are 13 & 16, but all 4 of our desserts were great. If I had not got the rest of my dining options booked we would have definately dined there again. Enjoy!

We ate at Shutters at CBR in December 2007 and my DF and I thought it was good. It wasn't anything special like other Disney restaurants but we thought the food and service were good.

Now, I wouldn't go out of my way to make ADRs there if I wasn't staying at CBR - but if you're staying at CBR, I think it was a delicious and relaxing way to have table-service without hopping on the bus.
