Those are our 1st two dinners of our trip next month, and being the indecisive person that I am, I'm starting to question them!!!:confused3

I would like to know about these 2 restaurants as we plan on going to them.

My hubby and I ate at Chefs de France on our last night of the trip, last November.

I can tell you that the tenderloin, with green beans and potatoes was really really good. We both had that. He started with the lobster bisque, which he liked alot. They give you a warm baguette with lots of butter, too.

I had creme brulee for dessert, which I did NOT like, but my hubby had this choco mousse cake taht was out of this world!

You can see pics if you go to my TR, linked in my signature.

I've not been to H&V, I had it booked, and then cancelled do to numerous negative reviews.

Hope this helps!

we liked both of them, not much theming at hollywood and vine, but decent, hot food, and relaxing atmosphere. chefs was a good meal as well. i had heard that remy may still be there. have your concierge check the day before you go for the "remy" times. if he is still there, it will be a real added kick to your meal to see him.

my family isn't picky and generally we're very easy to please when it comes to food at WDW. however, H&V dinner has been panned by all 4 members of my family as hands down the worst WDW dining experience we've ever had. My dad, who will eat basically anything (no, really!) called it "gross." It isn't that we don't like buffets, as Cape May's dinner buffet is a family favorite. But we just really felt it was a waste and will definitely never return. It's the only dinner at WDW (and we've had quite a few) that got terrible reviews from all of us. This was 3 or 4 years ago, so maybe it has improved but I do always seem to read bad things about it. It was the only time we've done the Fantasmic dining package, if we did it again we would go to Mama Melrose's or Brown Derby.

We just did dinner at Chefs in January. Overall, I would say everyone enjoyed their meal. I had wanted to eat there for years so it was a nice experience. I'm not sure it made our "must return" list but we all agreed that we were glad that we chose it, even if we don't return for the next few trips. I ordered the duck and profiteroles, loved both. I also tried the creme brulee, very good! Wish I had some now!

Love Chefs, :thumbsup2 Have not been to H&V in over 10 years went twice, put it on my never to return list.

Maybe things have changed, over the years but this restaurant reminded me of cafeteria type food. We pay OOP and at $33 dollars per adult for dinner I expect a little better quality.

We did both this year and I have to say that Chefs wins hands down. The service is great, the food is wonderful. The lobster bisque is out of this world and my daughter got the french onion soup which was pretty good too. She didn't like the creme brulee but I did.

Hollywood and Vine has the distinction of being one of only two places in WDW that I will never return to. It's not that the food was bad, it wasn't great but wasn't horrible either. The service was horrendous. I am a person who feels like if the waiter lets my glass get empty (especially at a buffet where I am serving myself) then you don't deserve a good tip. We had 14 of us on three separate checks, but they split us up into two separate tables even though we had ADR's. Then told us that because we were more than a party of 8 that it was a mandatory 18% gratuity. After speaking with my fiance' that night, we talked to a manager the next day hoping to get the tip refunded. The manager I spoke with told another manager to "take care of their entire meal." She got contact info from me and told me she would call me that day. That day goes by and no phone call so I check the receipt from our dinner that night thinking maybe they had put the credits back on. No such luck. So the next morning we go to our concierge and tell them what happened. They called my fiance's sister (whose name the reservation was in) and because no one else wanted to say anything and because we left a tip (remember we weren't given a choice) that indicated satisfaction. But at no point did they return my call. I felt like it was disrespectful of them to go behind my back this way. We did eventually get the tip refunded from teh concierge but now I am upset because they said they would take care of the meal. Don't tell me you are going to do something and then not do it.

me and DS did H & V last October, and thought it was a waste of money. Now I don't mind spending money on GOOD food, but the food there was mediocre at best, definitely not worth the price!

We ate at Les Chef's recently and loved it. The beef medallions are truly wonderful. :thumbsup2

We also ate at H & V, but for lunch not dinner. We liked it well enough and didn't understand why so many hated it. We haven't done the dinner which is a totally different menu, so I'm thinking I may change our Sept ressie there for Mama Melrose.:confused3

had dinner at chefs de france this past december. me and my hubby both enjoyed our meal very much! i had the short ribs with sorbet for dessert and he had the tenderloin with creme brulee for dessert. we tried each others meals and thought that both were very good!:thumbsup2

Chefs always makes our must return list. We find the food and service wonderful. And to the poster who mentioned Remy- he was definitely there the first week in March during our 5:30 dinner reservation.

Chefs is a favorite. Remy is fun. But the food is the star. Cheese plate is a great start, and the short ribs entree is simply fantastic. The sorbet medley for dessert is simply out of this world . The best I have ever had and I don't like sorbet as a rule (usually I'm more of a creme brulee girl).

We have been to both and I would almost say this would be like "apples and oranges." We are not really fans of H&V - we have been there twice and both times it was somewhat like "controlled choas." Chefs is one of our top pics on every trip. Both the food and service are always great! Sometimes, though, the seating is a little tight. On our last visit we saw two ladies - seating back to back at different tables -become a bit annoyed because the one person kept hitting her chair. There was really enough room for both individuals but the one lady had to hang her backpack on her chair rather than on the floor or window ledge.
