Anyone been to deerfield beach, fl?

I am looking at possibly trying to go in December. A friend has offered me their place to stay. I don't know much about the area. Is the water pretty there?? I know it's in the area of Pompano, West palm beach, etc. but never traveled around florida.

It's on the Atlantic, and I am partial to the gulf beaches, which is why we live over here now. However, Deerfield Beach is very nice, close to Ft. Lauderdale with lots to see & do. December weather can be hit or miss. It can be in the 40's & 50's or 70's & 80's.

Just north of Deerfield Beach is some great snorkeling. The beach is beautiful in Deerfield. Just south of there is a great fishing pier.

Definitely worth a couple of days.

Longtime Deerfield resident! Beach is great. Some fun restaurants down by the water as well. You can walk out on the pier, there are lifeguards, restrooms, etc. Pretty easy parking, but bring quarters! When I had late shifts at the newspaper, I would go swimming in the morning in the ocean. What a stress reliever.

Deerfield is nicely located for day trips as well. Boca, West Palm, Vero to the north, and Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Keys to the south.

Thanks! I am thinking of going. I spoke with a lady at the place I would be staying and she said I didn't even need a car That's my kind of vaca! I can get a shuttle and everything is within walking distance and then they have the local transportation. Now that's a vacation
