About a month ago there was a run on CSR threads... and now nothing :( Just wondering if anyone has been recently.

I also noticed that people were being put into the Ranchos and Casista's sections lately.... I've requested the Cabana section. Just hope I get it.

Do I count? Mercy, don't sweat it. CSR is great and hasn't changed. I was there 2 weeks ago and it was HOT! Yes, I was in the ranchos but I checked in at 7:30pm. It's the luck of the draw.

Recently returned from 15 days there !! We stayed in Casitas (3)- I requested Casitas when I booked. CSR is simply beautiful !! Would probably only stay in Casitas because the landscaping, fountains and views are magnificient. As Buzz said, it was HOT !! WOW !! And the lightning storms were incredible - but brief. There were a few conventions that had gone on while we were there but it really wasn't bad at all. It was fun, in a way, to see the participants (karate or something like it one time, dancers another, etc) practicing by the Convention Center and in the Courtyards. It could make Pepper Market a little crazy at lunch time but they really seem well equipped to handle the "rush". Parking was annoying at worse. The resort is huge, but gorgeous to stroll around. We mostly drove to our bus stop, but walking to Pepper Market was short and we usually caught the resort shuttle to the Dig Site Pool. I was a bit surprised at how warm the pools were - given the summer heat a hop in a warm pool was NOT particularly refreshing !! It was great at night though !! I would highly recommend this resort without hesitation. Feel free to contact me if you have any other specific questions. Enjoy your stay there !!:D

Sure you count Buzz... you are one of the reasons I booked CSR in the first place!! :Pinkbounc Since my trip is getting so close, I just like to talk about where I'm going to stay!

Theresa... thanks for the report! The HOT thing is really starting to worry me :worried: though. Oh well, I guess what can I expect for August. I actually like getting into a warmish pool... I'm a cold water chicken :) Did you take breaks during the day, how long did it take you to get back and forth from the parks to the resort? Just wondering if I allowed ourselves long enough breaks.

DH wants to try a different moderate....and this one looks great....I requested 9B and ground floor!!

Has anyone ever fished here or rented one of the boats!!

thanks!

We got back from CSR a little over a week ago. We really liked it alot. The grounds are just gorgeous and the room was very clean. Housekeeping also did an excellent job. We only ate in the Pepper Market once for lunch, but it was very good and a great selection. Bus service was top notch too, we never wait longer than 10 minutes for any bus and it's such a quick ride to both MGM and Epcot!

We had also requested Cabanas, non-smoking. When we arrived, they had put us into Ranchos. And despite Wade's best efforts, he could not find any available Cabanas for the length of our stay, which was really fine with us. And we ended up loving Ranchos. Bus stop is very convenient and the walk to El Centro is really only about 5 minutes. I don't know why so many people complain about it.

Our one and only problem was one palmetto bug (sp?) in our bathroom one morning. We called the front desk and they said it's a big problem in the Orlando area, but that they would take care of it immediately. Sure enough, when we got back to the room a few hours later, the whole place had been cleaned and sprayed for bugs.

All in all, it was a fabulous stay. :Pinkbounc

I was so pumped to get Coronado for our September trip. I was very disappointed that I didn't get it for the trip we have in a few weeks. But, that has all been solved!!!!!!!!!

Mercy - We took breaks each afternoon. CSR is really close to MGM, Epcot and AK so getting back to the room is relatively quick. MK is a bit longer but the buses run extremely well at CSR so it shouldn't be that long a wait unless you just missed the bus. 10 mins in the heat seems like forever.

ellie&mattys mom - cabana 9b is a great location. good luck!

Mercy......As Buzz said, the buses are real easy to catch - unless you just missed it. All the bus pavilion waiting areas have a roof - usual for sun as well as the daily downpour!!The routes changed from time to time while we were there. One day we were trying to get to EPCOT but our bus got routed to Blizzard Beach for a pick up since it was POURING !! They all rode with us to EPCOT then to their hotel which was AKL I think. Made a few unexpected and unlisted stops at BB on some other buses too. Never on a Magic Kingdom bus though. The wait time, for us, was never really a problem - except on the 4th of July. We got on at the Casitas bus stop (Bus stop #2 - but the first to be picked up) and at times it was tough for the people getting on at El Centro to get a seat since they were the last stop (Bus stop #1). Don't let the heat worry you too much. Bring hats !!! I burned the part line in my hair !! I made sure my kids and DH all had hats but didn't get one for me ! DUH !! And spray fans are a great idea too. They really saved us !! They are extremely expensive in the parks. We started out in the parks in the morning til about 2 - 3 pm then went back to CSR for a swim and dinner, then back to the parks at night. Eventually, we all started sleeping later and reversed the order, which worked A LOT better for us. We went swimming, then ate and went to the 4 main parks around 2 pm when everyone seemed to be leaving! It was hotter than the morning obviously, but with the water fans and the fact that we were all cooled off from swimming, evening came quick enough for us to be as comfortable as we could be. And the parks were open pretty late too. There are a lot of spots in the parks that have misting sprays to cool off in too. Be prepared but don't worry too much - you'll have fun no matter what the temperature !! Also, better plan on ONLY going to Blizzard Beach first thing in the morning. It was closed almost every day we were there from about 11 til 2 pm due to the crowds. Our "late day start plan" bombed miserably the day we tried to go to BB. We ended up at Typhoon Lagoon instead. We did eventual get there at opening time and made it on a lot of rides with very little wait. Good luck with getting the Cabanas section. It is a nice central location. No matter where you end up, the walking is nothing compared to what you do in the parks - and at such a BEAUTIFUL resort it is so relaxing to stroll around it. Try to save some time to enjoy it. Be sure to check out all the fountains in Casitas - and at nighttime too!! Enjoy ! :sunny:

DH and I rented a mouseboat on our honeymoon back in 2002. It was ok, but the lake is pretty small, we just kept going in circles. We were definitely bored pretty quick. I would suggest going over to the Contemporary or the Poly and renting a mouseboat over there. The lake is much bigger, more to explore and I think it would be a lot more fun! We decided that if we ever are going to rent again, that's where we'd go.

Other than that, we love CSR! Stayed there in May, going back in Sept! (gotta get one last trip out of those AP's!)
